This car got me through most of GT4, it was affordable, and I loved it deeply.
 
Ye seen it, it was in Switzerland. Was a bit in a shock when I saw that but they'll rebuild it :)

Just got 6:40 on the ring, I consider that good for my level. lol

Car is amazing :) Loving every bit of it so far, shame it's a standard car though!
 
Just had my first laps with the car and it indeed runs great !!!

Bought it, engine and body overhaul for 800k and fresh oil.
Bought some Race Soft tyres and did 2 quick laps in practice.

Best lap so far is a 6:26 and that is with NO changes to any settings whatsoever. And it is running 466 BHP at the moment.

But default settings already feel very good so won't need all that much changes to make it really go like a train but there is some time to be gained with that.

I am kinda in doubt if I will buy the stage 2 and 3 engine tuning since this can't be reversed :/ Same goes for stage 3 turbo although this can be reversed. But thinkI will leave it stock abd just fiddle with the setup later.

Will post later if I made changes to the setup and only if it helps to improve laptimes.

But ye top car as I expected.

Was able to run this beauty with a 6:10 lap on ring in GT4 (450hp). But 6:26 is pretty good for GT5! And you are right, there is still potential ;) Won more than a second on GVS with my setting, compared to my standard one (not the cars standard setting..).

Did many hundred laps on ring with this car in GT4.. And in GT5 it will be much more! This car has better handling than any DTM or SuperGT, JGTC car. And I love to drive it.
 
I agree 100% with everyone. That M3 is just flat out awesome! I just bought it in the online dealership the other day. Love it!

I don't remember that car being that good in GT4...

Thanks GiaGTR, ye will need to do more laps and see if I can improve when altering the setup. I decided to leave it stock, or as default as it comes from the UD.

Currently running the 4hours endurance race with it in Aspec.
Started of with Hard tyres and was able to pull a small lead of 30 seconds after 4 laps.
Pitted and took on Medium tyres...gap was increased and after the 8th lap pitted and took on soft race tyres. Think I can lap the Audi racer as well after 2 hours now ....

The thing what bothers me...Hard tyres give less grip while they actually last shorter then the soft ones .....great going PD !! lol

DTM cars aren't touring cars in the usual manner.. To quote wikipedia: "Instead of the road car bodies, unrelated purpose-built chassis are used, which are closer to prototype racing. If you look at the DTM driver list you'll see that an open wheeler background (be if F1 or lower classes) is pretty much a given.

Nowadays yeah they're nothing like the road cars apart from the shape of the purpose made body looking like the road car. Back in the eighties and nineties they were though.
 
The m3 is faster than the clk fully upgraded. I ran a 6.23 on the ring last night at night. It's a monster

Is this the Merc with F1 Engine?

If so i saw this one on the Gurnigel Race. Did not make the first turn :D But the sound on the straight was great :D.
Gurnigel, small Mountain 30 min away where i live.

Its great to drive up there.. if you go there a couple days before the race, all the signs which show the turns are already installed. 👍

I'm loving my CSL, I can't wait till I get any of the of RM'd BMW's.
The CSL has such a wonderful sound too.
 
I recently picked up the M3 GTR and the CLK DTM, haven't driven either of them. I also have the Alfa 155 4WD Touring Car(yes the old 555 from GT2) Handles great, but lacking in power, great car though.

The DTM cars handle similarly to the JGTC cars, both are similar in weights and power output. I'm on a mission to collect my favorite DTM's and JGTC cars, then I will buy everyone of them as the year passes. Also I recently nabbed one of powerhouses the Sauber-Mercedes C9...GT5 I love this game...now give me back El Capitan and Apricot Hill.
 
Haha no it has not got a F1 engine lol, but a V8 engine that revs up to about 10.000 rpm.
