On-the-fly settings adjustments

Would you like to be able to make some settings adjustments on-the-fly, like they can do in real life? You always see them tweaking the brake bias or differentials by turning knobs on the steering wheel in F1 and other motorsports, so it would only make sense to add that to Gran Turismo. It wouldn't be terribly hard to do, I don't think. You're either using the stick or the pad for steering, right? So witchever one isn't steering, you use up/down to select the adjustment, and left/right to tweak. Also, when you're using the wheel, there are four unused buttons: X, Square, R3, L3. Those could be used for presets, or other functions.
 
I'd absolutely love to see this. Adjusting Brake bias through a circuit, especially a long one like the nurburgring, is key. I don't think all cars should have this option but super cars and race cars should. I'd also like to see the ability to adjust things like downforce, sway bars or suspension in the pits during a race. Again for cars that that is an option for. Make the pits in longer races and enduro races have a point other than changing tires. Add fuel levels, etc into it as well. I'd also love to see weather in the longer enduro races. If it rains you should pit for wet tires or stay on slicks hoping for a dry line.
 
I would like to see fuel mixture adjustable if fuel is a big part of GT4 endurance races
 
INDEED!!! ALL GREAT Ideas! 👍 In addition I'd like to be able to change Tyre "Compounds" while in the pits. I think it would be Kool to say: Start on "Soft" tyres, run the middle of the race on harder ones & then switch back to softer ones for the run to the Flag! ...UB57 :D

'on the fly'......would be good but I would want maybe the pause the game to adjust things......just so I don't smash into a wall when adjusting the brake bias, or telling the pits what tires I want. There should be a RACE MENU in the paused section to allow you to set what tires you want when you next pit, brake and suspension adjustment and maybe some recommendations!......etc etc.....Im all for an in race adjustment menu, but not whist flying down the nurb at 200+!! :) 👍

See that is the one thing I don't want to see. Like most racing you need to choose tires ahead of time and stick to it for the race, evenif you made the wrong choice. The ability to change from slicks to rain tires is definately need.
 
Great idea, even if the changes could be made in the pits (downforce, tires, etc...). The tires really should be changeable in the middle of a 25+ lap race. We wont be able to change to rain tires because GT4 isn't going to have interactive weather effects :trouble:
 
I like the tires idea...running durable tires first then gunning for the gold on yur best rubber......

brake bias on the fly is good too, it'd be crucial for making adjustments especially if there's a drastic change in corners while in a race.

:D I really MUST disagree with you on this one kensei: :trouble:
I know that there are Racing Associations in Real Life which DO limit tyre choice to ONE compund but I've never raced with one. Picking the correct tyre for weather/track conditions is an invaluable tuning tool!!! Besides GT3 has SEVERAL Compounds available which I'd venture to guess No One ever uses!!! (T-6 & T-7 for example), & being able to switch to them late in an Enduro would add just a bit more realism IMHO. Especially w/modern comunications, I can just hear a frustrated driver telling the team manager..."Give me some more tyre & I can catch this guy!!!" :lol: ...UB57 :D
 
I think make adjustment in the pit is more appropriate. Yes I know some race car can adjust those on the fly, but practically a driver may only adjust those few times throughout the entire race but not adjust for different corner in a single lap.
But things like boost contorller for turbo car, I hope we can adjust on the fly, especially when you want to pass some car on the straight or save some fuel for enduro race, I really like them to bring back boost controller.
 
oops.....Oh yeah! My bad, I forgot......I guess you would have to be quick fingered to adjust things during race!......better find a strait piece of track to adjust that brake bias! 👍
 
I think "Le Mans" had this option at least for the rev limiter.
You could adjust it every time the engine was near overheating...

Nice idea. Would love to have that in GT4.
