I have had my car for nearlly 3 months now, and while out driving at night I have seen all sorts of ****heads that do stupid things all the time. Then the other night it came to me.... THEY ALL SEEM TO BE IN EITHER FORDS OR HOLDENS!

Now I know in my area commodores ("common-whores") are immensly popular because Holdens manufacturing plant is what 15-20km away from my area, so i get a lot of people looking at me weird when I get into my car, and a lot of comments if I pull up next to a bunch of people in a Holden or Ford. And the number of times I have heard something about milk and juice in 2 litres in the background when I am near my car, ugggh it just annoys me. I cant wait until I get a better car (not that I don't think my current car is bad :) ) so that i can blow them away with my "milk and juice". I've never heard stories about people with imports yelling abuse to people driving commo's.

My question is to my fellow aussies is firstly do you even like commodores or their identical counterparts ford falcons? Have you any amusing stories about some guy in a commo who thinks he's hell good then crashes into a bush or something. have you ever been "payed out" about your car? I'm sure I'm not the only one.....well hopefully Im not....

Yep, and funnily enough its the imports that are always picked on by cops also.

It's almost always Commodores that want to drag race me, and most the time they are V6's. (WRX's seem to want to race allot also, but nowhere near as much as Commodores)

I get "GET A V8 LOSER" alot....... Well guess what I've got a V8 as well. Once I saw someone yell out to a Toyota Soarer "GET A V8" Soarer replied "IT IS A V8", I found that funny. I never get paid out about my car but I just get told to get a Commodore fairly often.


I have been in the Commodore and Falcon scene a fair bit (friends own SS Commodores and XR8 Falcons), some are pretty nice people but many are just stupid.

Yeah but problem is they always seem to roll up next to you at the traffic lights on friday, saturday nights, revving their engines and talking crap.:indiff:

Coincidentally, today I was witness to a commodore crash. Commodore had stopped and was turning right across a 1 lane road. Next thing I see is him completely miss the road that was all of 5 metres away from him, drive straight into the ditch, launch himself up out the other side of it, and then land on the nose, pretty much ripping it to pieces.

It's not all Commodore drivers that act like that. Commodore has topped the sales charts for near on 10 years. They are also a relatively cheap and have good performance with the price they are, and they have HUGE aftermarket support. Which makes them the P-Platers weapon of choice.

P-Platers will race anything, in a few months, when I get my set, I'll be racing every Excel and Festiva I can find...

Hey I didnt really intend this to turn into a "street racing" thread, I was just curious to see what other people think of those cars and if the people that drive them are like what they are in my area...

I'm not an Aussie but I can verify that there is the same thing here in this country--a large percentage of 4th Gen ('93-'02) Camaro/Firebird/Trans-Am owners act like that for the most part. No matter which car I owned they wanted to race me--and still continue to do it to this day. I mean, I get teenagers in thier WS6 Trans-Ams wanting to race me in my STOCK Focus which looks STOCK. I don't get these numbskulls.
 
Im do like my Holdens but then again i do love my other cars too... i get alo of wtf??? looks from them when i drive my car but then again i do a Suzuki Cappuccino. I actually had on passenger tonight in a VT commo ask if my car was turboed, Im thinking its just going woosh for no reason.
 
All young guys on P plates act silly and hoon off at the lights. It doesn't matter what car they have. It isn't something specific to conformadoore owners, its just that holdens/fords are the best bang for the buck currently. I've seen a LOT of people acting like idiots in many many different cars, basically anything that is relatively cheap that can be made to go kind of fast.

Its the same the world over...
 
What I was thinking more of is the fact that Holden and ford drivers often yell out abuse to people driving imports or "four bangers", but it never seems to go the other way, ie people in imports or "four bangers" yelling out "get out of the stone age and get a real car." You just dont see it, but I am going to stop there as I dont want to stereotype that all drivers of those cars are idiots, its just a small percentage of them that screw it up for the rest of you commo/falcon owners...

"But bad milk and OJ can still give you the ****s mate"

And he blew the doors of the VL as well. Quite amusing to watch, that was.
