ok I am having some seriouse trouble with this mission  and I can seem to get a good lead for one lap and then I come in second at the end. is there anyway to stay ahead on this or what do I have to do? :banghead:

#1: Tune to max (the opponents are)
#2: Remember wing (max downforce)
#3: Adjust tranny for max performance (accel or speed?)
#4: Use best tires that last the whole race.

Just tried again, Speedster (not the turbo version) On Infineon. R3 tires (green in the end so you can go for R4 or R5?) win by 3s

I used the turbo model, very competitive race series !!! My B-Spec Bob couldn't hack it, but I got the job done !! Tuned to the max ! ( a little nitrous never hurt anyone either )

ok so should I buy both speedsters and switch off at infinion?

I haven't done these yet, but from what I have read (use the search function - answers are all over the place on this particular series) do what Hi-speed said. That seems to be the consensus....

EDIT (2 posts while I was typing!).....you can use either car but I hear that you have a (slightly) better chance with the turbo

...and don't forget nitrous

If I remember correctly, I bught the turbo first, then switched. Didn't use the tranny trick either, and no NOS.

With NOS It should be quite simple............for some :)
But It's one of the trickier races.

I used the Turbo Speedster, even tho its slower.
Just bulk it up, and add Nitrous. Adjust tranny per each track, use Nitrous in the beginning to get the lead, then, maintain by holding the inside line and blocking out your number 2 guy. Good tires always help too.

get R4 (or even R5) tires. i use'd R4's, and that made the difference between winning and comming in 2nd, after i had tried everything else.

used a speedster turbo, max mods, used a wing, messed with transmission, still had trouble on all but the 1st race...

R4's, and bam, easiest 125 (x 4 races) points i ever got. :D

Interesting. So that's what it takes to lower the points down from 200.

I guess we can assume that as long as you don't add a wing, you always get 200 no matter which tires or engine upgrade you use?

.

I didn't see what the major problem was with this series. I am not trying to brag or aything, but I had no difficulty at all. I A-specced every race, no nitrous (I have never bought it for nay car), Turbo Speedster and not max tuned. I won every race with 200 A-Spec points. It really wasn't too hard. It was still really fun, passing and getting passed. The 206 races, on the other hand, were a huge pain in the ass. Also driving anything with the SL65 AMG was a pain, oh Lord that car understeers.

I never had a problem with this race either in A-spec. Finished many seconds ahead of the field using a winged Speedster Turbo in all the races (didn't have to resort to any Nitro). I had broken the engine in and replaced oil so my hp had gone up quite a bit. I've won the series twice with little problem. I'm going to try it without a wing next time.

However, the same car that flies in A-spec is a serious underachiever in B-spec. It can win some races, but in some it doesn't even come close. At Infineon and Autumn Ring it downright stinks. Barely placing third no matter how much I try to B-spec monitor it for turns, straights or whatever. Tried stickier tires too, but no real success. Has anyone ever won all the Opel Speedster races in B-spec starting from the back of the field? My B-spec driver has about 6500 points. Not great, but hardly crap. Tell me how you achieved this feat, please.

get the non-turbo Speedster, tune up to full with nos at 70 or 100 (whichever it can reach), low suspension height and the rear toe angle at 1 (dunno how it worked but the car drove a bit better) and also racing softs.

I love this series, proper racing and lot's of lovely 200 pointers. Just used Non turbo speedster, maxed on HP stuck a wing on. Click the downforce down......I think for me the main difference for winning was racing tran, and fiddle around with the ratios and you find you can out accel the ai out of the corners. Grand Valley and Infineon were great fun chopping and changing all the way.

The non-turbo model is better because it's lighter than even a Stage III lightened turbo model... stock.

I used a turbo model, all mods, racing softs, aero set merely at 10-10, to keep speeds up... (thing doesn't burn out anyway), no NOS ( :) ). I then adjusted my power down to 340-350 to get 200 A-Spec points. spend the rest of the race walking away on the straights and doing some creative blocking in the twisties. Bugger of a series if you race it at 200pts on a turbo (definitely easier at 200pts on a regular model, better handling), but a good way to pass time.

I just did this series the other day. Started off w/ a turbo model - no wing, no NOS but I did toss in everything else.

One of my races dropped to 199 pts. instead of 200. I think I lightened the car some before that race, but can't remember for certain.

b-spec Bob couldn't cut it.
