The first Victoria Cross since the Falklands was awarded yesterday for Private Johnson Beharry, a 25 year old who went through two utterly amazing feats of strength and courage to steer his team to safety, eventually collapsing.

This is one of the most amazing things I've read in quite some time, and incredibly brave is an understatement. A grenade went off 6 inches from his head, he got repetitively blasted with RPG's, and was shot in the helmet. All of this, and he saves his friend's life, saves his whole crew and drives his warrior to safety.

Amazing.

Wow, to say this brave man is lucky is a vast understatement. Astonishing story, I hope he isn't forced to go back to Iraq to tempt fate again.
