The Focus is a Ford Europe design / build (but now also sold elsewhere, probably made elsewhere, too). The RS200 was developed in the UK, which is in the EU...

And I entered a Griffith into the British Lightweights, much to my surprise!

Still I don't see why I can't enter them :(

Anyways I remember entering a Speed 6 and the the Seven Fireblade, the competition was oblirated.

Maybe because all Fords are listed as being from the US in the game, much like the original (well, Rover) Mini is apparently German...

Bit of an oversight, eh?
 
You saw the RS200 and Focus in a Euro event as AI cars? That's odd indeed, seems like PD remembered their origins for the AI cars but not for us 👎

And re. the Griffith, ah maybe it was a 350C i couldn't enter, I have both. Would've thought the 350C was pretty light too though, especially if a Tuscan is allowed, will go check as was planning to buy a Tuscan anyway ;-)

Be careful using the premium cars from the tuners too, for example I don't think you can enter that tuned Golf in German events. I'm wondering where it thinks the "Gran Turismo" cars are from too, as there is a 350Z and a GT, though I think I saw that GT in the US Muscle event.

Ya, apparently tuner cars are classified by the place of their tune rather than the actual manufacturer. So the R34 Golf is actually Canadian. The AEM S2000 from SEMA is American.
 
At one point the Focus was assembled in Hermisillo Mexico for the north american market. I only know this because I did the design work for the conveyor system. Been in most of the Ford plants in North America and quite a few of the Chrysler and GM plants as well.
 
Yes but the Focus RS and RS200 were Europe-only variants (the Focus RS being a Euro hot-hatch and the RS200 a member of the old 80's Group B rally machines.)

US model is quite a tad different to European model.:) Different looks especially. But the versions in-game are EU-models..
While in Forza you got:
Focus SVT = US certainly, just look at the grille and some other parts. Also it's LHD. ;(
Focus ST = EU (UK, as it's RHD)
Focus RS = EU (in fact it's UK, just like the Fiesta, they're both RHD).

The Ford Taurus SHO! :D in the Muscle Car challenge and the fact potentially a American electric could enter if it was in GT5 due to the only restriction being American cars only.
 
I really felt very out of place in the Formula GT championship. I managed to snatch a 4th place at Fuji in the first race, won Indy road course very easily and finished 9th on cote d'azure. that's when my fist found the table (best outcome) and I quit the championship, promising to give the car away to the first interested on GTplanet. I'm sorry to say the anger died quickly though, so no free FGT!
