So, I thought trucks and SUVs were banned from Forza 6 online. But stupidly, the recently released Mercedes racing truck is not:

Trucks and SUVs were banned for a reason...

I've moved this to the general section: while it's about online racing, it isn't about organized GTP racing.

Banning trucks was a bandaid solution to the problem with rammers. I don't know if you've been racing online a lot since the initial ban, but there's still plenty of dirty drivers. Banning unusual vehicles punishes everybody that aimed to use them, regardless of intention.

I've just had a few races in the ABC lobby with the new truck, and it's been fun. I give faster classes a wide berth when I'm not in the middle of a turn, and I don't block on the straights where the truck gets murdered by the rest of B class. It's brakes are far better than you'd imagine, so you need to remember that when behind another car heading into a braking zone.

Unfortunately, the idiots ruin it for the rest of us.

Honestly if anything I think there are more rammers now than there were before the larger vehicles were banned, sure there were plenty of people using them for ramming but there were plenty more using them for clean racing, whether it be for a bit of variation, levelling the playing field or they just enjoy driving those types of vehicle. Just because the larger vehicles are banned it's not going to completely change the mindset of the rammers, instead they will pick something faster and more nimble, arguably making them able to cause even more trouble (in A class that would typically be the BAC Mono :yuck:).

I'm pretty sure the Rolls-Royce cars are larger or almost as large as most of the trucks but they're not banned, I haven't come across too many rammers using them either. Actually last time I saw someone use a Rolls-Royce was in the ABC's, they were in B class and running faster lap times than not only the rest of their class but all of the A class drivers as well, and this was on Watkins Glen!

I fully intend to race the truck online (unless they ban it 👎) but will make sure to respect other drivers' space, and in the case of a very tight track may change to something more suitable as it's hectic enough without a huge truck added to the chaos.

It seems it's already been "blacklisted" if the staff post on FM.net's forum is anything to go by.
