I have most of my cars tuned 550pp and higher, for online Nürburgring racing, however, a good host I encountered this weekend,

(courtesy of Sailworksman), has limited early races to 400pp, 475pp and 550pp, where I had very little to choose from! (often limiting engine as much as 75%, and this is a serious setback against a good tuned 100% actuall pp opponent)

what are some of your choice rides in 400 - 550 pp ranges?

thanks.

My advice would be:

Road cars? NSX (variations), M3 (variations), LFA, maybe an RUF. Maybe a special S2000. For low PP (~400) maybe a nippy FF hatch or a light MR.

Race cars? S2000LM, NSX RM, NSX LM, Calibra Touring Car, other Touring Cars/GT300 etc.

Avoid most 4WD, and FF if you want to be one of the quickest i would say. Although the Integra RM can be quick in the right hands.

Downforce becomes more important as you near 550 PP.

When racing the lower PP levels I prefer to use cars that are in that PP level naturally, as opposed to detuned cars like the M3 GTR, GTR's etc. Some of my choices are Elise 111R, Ruf 3400S, NSX's of all kinds, Integra Type R, MR2 Supercharged, Mitsubishi CZ3 Tarmac (4wd), FT86, S2000's etc.

One tip for you is, weight reduction is not always preferred with these cars. You will often get better lap times with a heavier car because it allows you more horsepower. It's especially true on tracks like Road Course Indy, Nurb GP etc.

(Shameless self promotion time) CKR a tuning garage im part of tune for PP races , roadcars currently but racecars may be coming at a later date.

Off the top of my head. 450pp - 500pp Civic ep '01, Ford Focus RS 02 , Impreza 22b .

500pp+ Integra , Civic , Silvia S15 ( These 3 are RMs) NSX, S2000 ? tons of others at this range.

Check the link in my sig if you so wish :D

This guy has the right cars!

Thanks Phil...lol. I have to admit I learned a lot from the 450 pp Street Car Tuners Club which runs every night around 9:30 - Midnight EST on SS tires, all street, no RM or racecars and usually no tuner cars either. If anyone wants to check it out, it's a good, clean, fast set of drivers and there's a lot of door handle to door handle racing. They run a lot of theme nights like 80's JDM, wagons, muscle cars etc. and once a week a one make night from the Premiums. Lots of different cars to race and tune and it keeps you on your toes.

Here's the link if anyone is interested:

EDIT I forgot to add, everyone is pretty loose with talking about their setups, there aren't a lot of secrets tunes or anything. Good place to learn for sure.

Thanks, I will check out your tunes, I have neglected viewing your tunes, been to busy scoping and playing with other tuners' cars.

please note, I am specifically looking for tunes only for this bumpy track, the Nürburgring Nordschleife.

I love this track to death, because if I take a real car to this real track, I'd probably have been "fatally injured" at my driving style, that is not to say I am careless, no, but because this is a videogame, I like to drive as fast as possible but maintaining proper limits of car, and track, and driver. (not necessarily in this order, haha).

I am now on a mission to find good lower pp cars to have fun online with, and remain competitive. but with a edge, that is to have a good tuned car, that can handle every inch of that track, with no lift off oversteer, minimal understeer on the high speed bends, and a decent top speed, and good accelleration.

Thanks all for posting.

400Pp
I almost never drive anything at this level, but I would think a Lancia Stratos would be fairly dominant.

475Pp
Again, the Lancia Stratos is just amazing up to 475Pp. It doesn't drive like a death trap, and has a great power/weight ratio. Also, the Datsun (Nissan) Fairlady 2000 and BMW 2002 are great at that level.

550Pp
I hardly ever drive anything other than my BMW M3 GTR or my non race modded Corvette Z06 because they are just that great.

Funny you mentioned the Stratos, because that was the one tuned car (courtesy of Praiano) that stared at me in my garage under my favorites tab (my favorites are only tuned cars so far).

I did well, until I understeered off the first fast double right bender, just passing the 1st bridge, but that was my bad, as I took it too quickly. I managed to catch up to him in the 2nd half of the track, only to lose it again in the famous whippersnapper series of bends. I am also out of practice on these lesser pp cars, and thinking I can push them as hard as some higher pp cars, but I realise I shouldn't.

The host, had a very good car, and that was the Toyota Celica 2000GT-R, and his top speed at the final strech was 276kmr, at 475pp. But he was also an excellent driver, and talking non stop in the mic to other people too! it may have been a little distracting to me though. But I enjoyed his room at the time. Beat him a few times in the 550 pp, so I was happy.

These are my preferences

400-430pp, Toyota MR2 1600 G-Limited Super Charger '86
430-450, Honda INTEGRA TYPE R (DC2) '98
450-500:
Lotus Elise 111R '04
Mazda RX-8 Type S '07
Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.5 - 16 Evolution II '91
Vauxhall VX220 Turbo '00
500:
RUF 3400S '00
RUF RGT '00
BMW M3 CSL '03
BMW M3 GTR '03
Lotus Evora '09

Most defiantly go with the BMW M3 GTR or the BMW CSL, they're both very good in the lower PP ranges IMO.

You would have to neuter the hell out the ZZII to get it to 550pp. Stock its 600pp, I wouldnt want to add ballast and mess up the MR balance plus 1000kg is a nice round number.

You cannot go wrong with the following - listed from 525pp at Deep Forest in no particular order (great track for testing/tuning):
Subaru Impreza Spec C 04 - my favorite Vette Killer
BMW M3 CSL
Ferrari Scuderia
Lotus Evora
NSX-R Concept
Nissan 370Z GTA
Mazda RX-7 Bathurst
Lambo Super Veloce
Lotus Esprit V8 GT
Lotus Esprit 350 GT
Nissan GT-R GTA
Lotus Elise 111R
Ferrari Italia
BMW M3 GTR
Tommy Kiara ZZII
VW R32 Golf IV
NSX Type R
Honda/Acura HSC
Any Nismo
Audi TT S
LFA
RUF RGT
Lambo Countach 25th
MR2 G-Limited
Integra Type R is hard to beat at lower pp, especially at the 450pp mark.
