I went online to a rally room because I wanted to work on an alternate setup on my RS2000.

So I changed to my second setup (previously untouched), and set it up for rally. When I went to enter, it told me my car violated regulations because my TCS was set at 5 and no TCS was allowed. I opened up the menu to change it, and the settings were locked so I couldn't adjust it.

The host had to allow TCS again in order for me to turn mine off. :ouch:

Be warned: if you enter a room with traction turned on, and the host doesn't allow for it, you will not be able to race.

I have had this as well.

Just curious from a troubleshooting point of view, did you try to go back to the Settings A tab and see if you could turn off TCS? I read another post here today that stated that you could only alter Driving Conditions while the Tuning tab was on Settings A.

So, the issue may be with the two new Setting tabs that were added.

I'm thinking that we're going to need either a V2.00 Bugs thread or at the least, a V2.00 FAQ thread to tidy up some of these issues that everyone is having. ;)

Nice to know, I don't traction for anything short of LMP cars. Everything esle isn't powerful enough to warrant it's use and I drive mainly on SS tires.

There's an option to prohibit tuning of a driver's car in online rooms.

There is indeed, but to my knowledge, TCS is not considered tuning. It appears the host had it off, but the OP had switched to a 2nd Tuning tab to set-up differently for Rally, but when he was blocked from entering, he could not turn his TCS off.

That's why I asked if he tried switching back to the original tuning tab. I'm betting that the issue is with 2 of the 3 tuning tabs. ;)

Oh I see what your saying. Maybe the host turned TCS off while he was doing some tuning? :p

Also, very possible, but the strange thing is that he could not go back and turn it off in his settings, while he was on one of the new tuning tabs.

We've always been able to go back to the menu and turn off something that has been prohibited. So, I'm guessing that it is tied to the 2 new tuning tabs and not the original one. :)

Not true. I didn't even go back into tuning between not being able to turn off TCS and him deactivating the regulation. When TCS is disallowed it locks the menu, which in turn doesn't let people set it to 0. The only change the host made to make it work was allowing traction control.

However, you said that you were using a different tuning tab in that lobby to try a new setup. Once you could not change the TCS setting, I was asking if you tried to go to tuning menu and return to the original tuning tab and then tried to change the TCS setting.

It would be some major glitch if you enter a lobby and cannot change a Driving Option to comply with regulations. I would expect that the uproar around here would be quite substantial, which is why I was thinking it might be tied to the 2 new tuning tabs. ;)

same thing happened to me today, i wanted to make a 2nd tune for drifting...went back into the room and i couldn't turn the TCS off on the 2nd tune :\

Did you try to switch back to your first tune and then try and turn TCS off? I'm just trying to understand if it is tied to the two new tuning sheets or not, as I'm not in front of my PS3 at the moment.

I can almost guarantee it has nothing to do with tuning sheets. Tuning and settings are two separate entities, and the glitch has been shown to be because of regulations. Switching back probably won't help with anything.

I'm not sure about that, but I'll assume that you did not try. As I said, I read another poster saying he could only alter Driving Options if Tuning Sheet 1 was selected. He wrote that the Driving Options would be locked out if he was on any other Tuning Sheet. That was my only reason for asking. Thanks for responding. I'm sure PD will sort it out for us. :)

I'll test later when I get home, too. 👍
