Only 100 comments visible on main page - why?

On the main page:

Only the 100 most recent comments are displayed.

Some change in the past introduced this limit, why?

In this recent example, 50 of 150 comments can't be seen because of the limit:

Would be better if it uses Disqus like Commenting system atleast. With the "Show more comment" button instead being completely vanished.

Disqus is an utter waste of time, half the time it either says it doesn't work or the rate it throws comments is just unreal.



But thats just my 5 cents
