Jacob Corman submitted a new resource:

Ontario Motor Speedway - An old NASCAR track, California's Indy, and now a shopping mall and a housing district.

This track was used for NASCAR Racing in the 1970s. It was an almost perfect replica of Indianapolis. Unfortunately in 1980 the track was closed and shortly thereafter was demolished. Below are before-and-after images of the track area.

One of these days I'm going to go out there and see just what the heck that is in the area where the starting line was. Maybe they preserved the winner's circle? Also, if you look at the upper left of the satellite photo, you can see a remnant of turn 2.

Found some photos of this track when I went there back in 1971. Nice track, great fun.
