I'm having trouble with the Opel Speedster Turbo on the one make race where only Opel Speedsters can participate, I've modified my car to the limit with everything (1.5 way slip, medium soft tires, 347hp, removed all the weight, etc.), and they still show 199 A-spec points (which means my car isn't the best) and I keep on losing everytime (except the 1st race which I finally made gold by pushing the other car to the sand intentionally haha), any tips regarding modification of any kind to beat them would be appreciated, I can't even beat them in B-spec mode.

lol, this race is notorious for it's difficulty.... your just gonna have to keep practicing. you will eventually win.

Take the N-A - it's faster. Manual too, so you can push it deeeeep into the red.

Time trial on those tracks with the car, and you'll get a lot faster. Then you'll be ready to race.

i saw a lot of questions about this race in this forum. if u search u find.

u have no chances without racing tires.

Actually, you can win without racing tires, you just have to be pretty dang good at the game and be very patient. It has been discussed many times though, and the main key is to make sure to learn to use manual transmission if you haven't already, because the car makes most of its power after redline.

Now that that's settled, you wouldn't happen to own a Pontiac Ventura, would you p_ventura18?

you don't need manual...i did it well before i learned how to master the manual transmission in the game. (i drive a stick in real life, but buttons are not the same as a shifter). you also are able to get about a 150 pt race if you keep retrying, if you're that hard up for a win. just nitrous your way out to front and learn to block!

This race is definitely a challenge (coincidentally I did it today). The NA tuning seemed better than Turbo, and definitely added a wing (and changed the oil). Even after all that most (all?) races were still 200 points for me, but beatable.

What was a bit disappointing was that after doing them A-spec I tried to do B-spec and I could not beat the Infineon race and the one before it on B-spec.

One more thing... I did this without adjusting settngs except for dowforce. If you are having trouble, it is my experience that you can probably find a good combination of settings on this site that will give you the little edge you still need to get you through these races.

If that's a serious question, then I'd direct you towards his signature. :)

If not, then:  ...

*EDIT* - Sorry, that's you signature I was reading... :dunce: :dunce: :O :O :dunce: :dunce:

I'd forgotten how hard those Speedster races are! Just went and did the Autumn Ring one to remind myself. :)

💡 My tip? first practise. If you're still having trouble, try and figure out where the AI cars are creaming you :scared: , and do something about it. I found they were massively quick through the corners just before the hairpins on that track :grumpy: . Once you realise how they're beating you, you should be able to use their lines to go quicker :sly: . Nitrous feels like cheating, but think of it as a get out of jail free card! :D

PS Try not to crash.

Yeah, with a spoiler, racing tires, nitrous, and everything else, it should be really easy. I did it with no wing and S3 tires and still won them all on the first try, the key is to stay on the track, not push too hard, and stay on the track. Oh yeah, and stay on the track. If you can't beat it with a wing, racing tires, nitrous, and everything else, then...well, you might want to do a few more semi-hard races until you get a little better.

I found the fully-modified turbo version so easy to drive that staying on the track was no problem. I still don't understand the A-Spec points logic...

Opel speedster races are not as hard as people make out.
If you want to win easily then do this.
Buy a Opel Speedster- not the Turbo version
Tune it out to the Max and it should have around 323 Bhp. Buy some Racing Med also.
Buy a Wing and enter the races.
Go to settings and add the downforce from your new shiny wing.
The races are now 148 A-spec points not 200.
You should be able to win quite easily.

Hope that helped :D

Also, try searching for "speedster", in thread titles only, limited to the GT4 board. It would have turned up multiple threads on this very subject.
