Formula GT Friday
A one-off casual event
at Deep Forest Raceway
Date TBD (11 or 12 Jan likely)
17:00 EST / 22:00 GMT

ROOM CODE: ____________(to be posted 15 minutes before qualifying)____

Entry

Open entry on a first-come, first-serve basis. IMPORTANT: the unique room number ID will be posted on this thread about 10 minutes prior to qualifying. Using a room number will eliminate the need to add friends on PSN to organize the (for the moment) one-off event.

The only car accepted for this event will be the Formula Gran Turismo (standard). Pre-event oil changes and overhauls are of course permitted.

Regulations

* Laps: 30
* Start: GRID
* Skid Recovery Force: OFF
* Driving Line: OFF
* Boost: OFF
* Penalty: OFF
* Grip Reduction: REAL
* Mechanical Damage: LOW
* Track specific: Keep 2 wheels on the track at all times, with the one exception being the concrete left-hand corner before the first right under a bridge, this may be cut over the inside concrete area at your own risk

Qualifying - 17:00 EST | 22:00 GMT

20-30 minutes of optional free practice / qualifying for drivers who arrive early and wish to gain a higher grid place.

Pre-race check - 17:25 EST | 22:25 GMT

All drivers must be in their cars in the pit stall, or running a flying qualifying lap by 25 minutes past the hour. An on-track audio announcement will be made.

Race - 17:30 EST | 22:30 GMT

The race countdown will begin promptly at 30 minutes past the hour. An on-track audio announcement will be made. No exceptions will be made for late drivers or drivers having problems connecting to the room.

Racing guidelines to keep in mind (not punishable rules)

* Use common sense: accidents will undoubtedly happen, but do not go out of your way to wreck someone

* Slower cars have no obligation to let a faster car through when the battle is for position

* One block per straightaway on a trailing car is permitted (lazy, slow drifting across the track to be a pest and limit the available passing area approaching a corner is always permitted, as in real life

* Brake early and take an alternate cornering line at your own peril, trail a car too closely into a braking area at your own peril

* Cars being lapped, as a courtesy, will let the leaders through; keep in mind that it is not always obvious when a lead-lap car is in the mirror, so it is recommended that drivers always hold the regular racing line and only move out of the way when on a long straight

* No post-race penalties will be handed out, although future consideration will be given to cleaner drivers

Hi! What is Your own best lap on Deep forest with the FGT?

I´ll join if my times are good enough, but I don´t wonna act as a "safety car"...(52.655 is my best but around 54 normally).

I don't actually have my best time on hand, Ramo, but you're probably slightly faster than me. i still need to get some practice laps in.

I've pushed the event back until we get some more posts in this thread for an interest check. I'd like to keep the start time the same since it would allow people in the Americas and Europe to race together fairly conveniently.

I am thinking of staging the race this coming Tuesday or Wednesday, that being the 11th or 12th of January. If you are interested in running, then make sure to note your interest in this thread.

Ok.See U later.It was fun again to drive this monster when practicing..
I´ve only driven this on real Formula 1 tracks earlier, but Deep Forest was really fun.

Thanks for showing interest, once we get a few more people I will PM everyone once the day is decided (this coming Tue or Wed).
