Gran Turismo has always been incredible at capturing real-world tracks, but it's time to give players a place to just drive. I would love to see open-world or large-scale city maps added to the game, specifically focusing on the incredible scenery of Southern Italy—like the bustling streets of Naples, the winding roads around Avellino, and the breathtaking historic ruins of Paestum.

Instead of a traditional race, these maps would feature a "Free Roam" mode where players can just cruise at their own pace, explore the scenery, and enjoy their car collections without the pressure of a timer or a podium finish.

Why the Community Would Love This

  • The Ultimate Cruise Experience: Sometimes you just want to test a new tuning setup or enjoy a vintage sports car on a scenic public road rather than a racetrack.
  • Incredible Visual Showcases: Imagine Polyphony Digital’s graphics engine rendering the historic architecture of Paestum or the tight, coastal city streets of Naples. It would be an absolute dream for the Scapes community and virtual photographers.
  • Perfect for Lobby Hangouts: This would revolutionize online multiplayer lobbies. Players could host "Car Meets" in town squares, cruise together along the highways, or just chill out and talk cars.

How It Could Work

  • Point-to-Point and Loop Routes: While the main draw is free exploration, Polyphony could easily slice the map into smaller street circuits or point-to-point sprint races for traditional gameplay.
  • Dynamic Traffic & Time: An option to turn ambient traffic on or off, alongside GT's signature dynamic weather and time-of-day changes, would make these areas feel incredibly alive.

Already suggested btw.

This will never ever happen though. If you want open world, may I suggest Clutch? ;)
