I've been driving my F090/S for a while now, about 1800 miles worth of while now actually. Now, I know all about the variations in horsepower as you drive it and change the oil, and lately this car has been handling a lot more loose than I remember it being when I first tried it out... and the settings have not changed a bit. I still use the default settings and parts (though I don't think you can even change any parts) that the car came with.

A possible reason for what I'm experiencing could maybe be described as "Handling Dilation"... a term I am making up that is inspired by the phrase "Time Dilation" which describes how, at great speeds such as those experienced by a drag racer, one can percieve time to be slowing down... so the 4 or so seconds (guessing) that they use up to get down the stretch seems like double, triple, or even more than that span of time to the driver. Another example of this phenomenon would be how it seems like you are going slower and slower the longer you drive at the same rate of speed. So 60mph seems much slower than it did initially after you've been going that for an hour or so.

To correlate, I am just thinking that I've been driving this sweet F1 car for so long that I've "forgotten" how great it feels in comparison to the cars I was driving before I won it, and thus it doesn't seem as "snappy" as it did initially. So is this true or is the car in fact wearing out?

I'd like your opinions on that, and maybe throw in a discussion on what it might mean for Gran Tursmo games if it were true that cars "wore out" over time. You know, replacing parts and having to retune the cars and such.

No I haven't. I have another one but was reluctant to put any miles on it since I'm collecting all the prize cars on one save for an archive game save file. Maybe I'll do that and just don't save it when I'm done. Good suggestion.

Well there certainly was a difference between the two cars. The new one was just as snappy as I remember, and the one I've been using felt sluggish by comparison, and that nagging butt end inertia swinging around a little was there too, and not in the new one but there's an explanation... (I'm so ashamed).

It seems that I neglected to revert the downforce settings to default after running a Test Course race at some point and all this time (a good 10 race Professional series and a half I'd say) I've been running on the absolute minimum downforce settings which I had set that way to reduce the car's drag.

Man - if I had a dollar for every time I've done that - I always realise just as I get on the starting grid the race after the Test Course race, and I haven't saved....

I believe its u. I restarted GT3, and right now, all I have in my garage are mid 300 hp cars. I can feel the speed on all of my cars. After completing the Silver Arrows on Amateur, I got my Clk touring car and it felt awfully fast. I think the difference relies on the handling. Up to that point I couldnt take some corners at such high speed as my Clk touring does.

It depends on what kind of car u are used to drive.

The only effect I've felt somewhat similar to the one you describe wasn't with one car. There was a little more quirkiness since the left analog stick just became a bit more lose over time.

Was going to get a wheel, but there's not a practical desk or table on which to put the thing, the way it is now.

The same thing happened to me. The car began to feel as slow as my PT Crusier.
I won another F090/S and it felt the same.
So I tried driving my Castrol Supra(The car i drive best with) on Tokyo Route 246 (my favorite) and I did horrible. I took the turns too early and hit almost every wall.
So i realised that the F090 hadden't changed at all. It was just me.

Huh? Don't get all of you  You know im the best in English of my whole school and the best in English of my family but this is weird( even though I did understand the rest of forum)

I've done that many a time totaly srewed up my F1 car farting around with the settings when i really did not know what i was doing

But all that has passed now ;)

I've done that a whole lot....If ya thinkl about it...it is kinda funny...unless u lost the nexted race :(
