I was thinking about some sool stuff that would make one car 2, 3, or even 4 times better. Body graphics that the user can design. Different paint jobs. In my opinion one of the best would be totaly customizable bodys, such as choises of front and rear bumpers, side skirts, hoods, scoops, air ducts, and spoilers. It is probably too much to sak for but it would make you favorite car more fun to drive when you can change stuff like this.

Deffinatly though, i personally need too see more of the engine! Mabe clips of mechanics doing the upgrades? I dont know about all of you, but im a certified car junkie! And the gt games give me a certain high!!!:p

P.S. i would love to see the 2001 Mercury cougar in gt4!!!!

I think if we had the option to have hoods, skirts, spoilers, bumpers, The game wouldn't be that much of a Gran Turismo Sequel anymore. It would be a whole new different game.

It would be fun to customize your car, but there are alot of different games that do that. There not as big as hits as Gran Turismo though.

i like customisation but no fast and furious style

I am definately for customization, its almost essential, especially now that they have included racing online. I mean, aside from maybe color, every car would look boring and generic, but to add body kits and custom paint jobs, you would actually have the feel of your car being unique, you'd have your own style when racing to distinguish your car from others, but like everyone else says, no fast and furious ricer stylez

stop asking for rice in the game. I really hope there wont be a thing you can do to a car, except for changing the wheels. a clean car is always defined by its good wheels and a good stance for me. everything else just ruins it.

..Yeah.. it would be great to paint your own car. But i think that is beter to paint it on PC so you can use beter paint progs (like Photoshop) ..paint program that they could create in the game will never be beter than prog. like photoshop, Paintshop etc

need for speed underground would be for any fast and furious fans. and it will be on line. each car is to have over 250 customable parts.:D

Bravo! 👍

Where did people get the idea that GT needs body kits? Just because GT has Japanese cars? The day GT gets body kits will be the day I stop playing.

If you guys want rice, go play TXR0.

Would you stop playing if GT got racing modifications? :p

hate to tell you but body kits arnt rice
people turn them in to rice

so what your saying is the skyline GTR is rice because it has a body kit, and you would rather it look just like a stock skyline

you may just have to give up on GT4 because it (and a good chance) may have a custom option in it:odd:

I swear people are so ignorant. They think anything with custom paint and a body kit is rice. Rice this, rice that. You don't even know what rice is fool. I can tell you right now there is NO rice in TXR. Every part in that game has it's purpose.

The reason for body kits is for increased aero dynamics and improved looks. Most people in real life buy body kits for their cars to improve the looks of it. REAL body kit manufacturers like C-West wind tunnel test all of their products to insure there quality. I'm am 100% for aero parts in this game.

I thing YOU'RE the one who doesn't know what rice is. Rice would be any part added to a car that does basicly nothing to and improve the looks and make it LOOK fast without it actually being fast. You think that customized light buckets for the supra in TRX
improve handling of speed, I think not. Most people in real life buy aero kits for looks you are right about that, but they could give a DAMN about speed. You'd better think twice before you make a stupid remark battle_stage. Though there are some parts that i would like to be able to add.Now as you all know lots of cars in GT do NOT have wings, therefore you cannot change the downforce, Downforce wings could change all of that. It would also be nice to take away weight reduction and make it so each part can be changed INDIVIDUALLY. Lightwieght mirrors(possibly removing them) lightweight hoods(why thing spoon and them put them on?)etc. I dont ask for sidescirts(SPSPSP?) or anything else
like that. No lenses either thank you.(euro etc.) Anyway, the person who talked about the skyline GTR's bodykit needs to be taught that lots of cars have them and thats how you can adjust FRONT DOWNFORCE, they tend to add STABILITY. The skyline has the possiblity to have over 1000 HP, a riced-up civic DOES NOT!
I rest my case..... :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Hmmm, you kinda got me there. I thinking of body kits. They decreased the weight and improved aerodymanics, which in turn, adds speed. Also, not everytinhg that is for looks is rice. Get it straight. There's nothing wrong with a little style. In a game where millions of people will be using the same cars it would be nice to have something unique about your car.

No clutch, here's why..
Super Street- "While we're on the topic of simulation, the dynamic is so different after adding a clutch pedal and having three pedals instead of two. Will there be a peripheral for Playstation 2 in the future that will offer three pedals in order to match the real-life experience?

Kazunori Yamauchi- "That's a very good point that has always been an issue internally. We've always tried to implement that as part of the gameplay. As you mentioned, the movement-that procedure of driving-is the most difficult to re-create in the game. For instance, in real life when you drive a car, your whole body feels the motion of the car. The gravity-if you're accelerating or decelerating-helps you do the clutch work. In order to provide such an experience in the game, it would be very difficult. Plus, we would need a third pedal with force feedback. So there are various factors that we need to tackle, however, it's not like we've given up.

Well there's hope for a clutch still... :)

Can i just add one thing to this age old arguement of whether there should be mods in GT4. Firstly i think races mods should be back... imo imo... they were an interesting feature in both GT1 and GT2 etc etc blah blah... anyway.

I believe people want to see their favourite features (including drag racing) in GT because the games are such good simulators and no other game comes even close. Yeah it's fine to say go play another game if you want body kits and the like, but no other game plays like GT does... so people lets try to respect each others 'wishes'.
And bull **** to all those of you who say you won't play GT if there were bodykits etc in it. I laugh at the very thought of it

There's no hope for a clutch, a clutch is retarded for a game. Not only that, that would be followed by the same aspect of No car damages, companies didn't want to see their cars get banged up, if you missed the clutch you'd have to have a grinding noise would you not? And you'd have to have the chance for transmission damage, meaning car damage, meaning it won't work..
I think they should leave the game how it is, but perhaps being able to change rim sizes, and put different rims on the car, IE. 2 rims in the front and 2 different rims in the back. Like the Mugen NSX REALLY has. And of course paint jobs, and options like factory options. Exterior mods wouldn't be that bad of an Idea, nothing rediculous no Wing west no nothing like that, but Factory options like the choice of a spoiler or not, or the choice of wind diffusers or not ETC

Ah, this gt4 wont have damage but GT5 might for sure have, the Director of GT4 project has allready stated he wants to add damage.

Soman, Damage isn't up to the director, damage is up to the maneufacturers. They have to allow them to crash the car in order to get the images. Maneufacturers wouldn't allow it for GT2 GT3 or GT4, why GT5?

i agree

but how did thet do it in Need For Speed series?

Could it be that in NFS you get light damage whilst in GT they would want you to be able to total the car?

I think the 'Manufacturers don't want car damage' is a mostly a load of BS personally. Car manufacturers know cars get damaged, its life. (The Getaways got some licensed cars, look at the smashed Saab's, Toyota's, Honda's etc....)

I reckon its more to do with the hardware limitations on graphics, if GT4 was to have car damage expect the graphics to be worse but then Joe Public wouldn't buy a copy since the graphics would look crappy. Plus it would be everycar in the game would need 4X the work input (for convincing damage) + game engine changes + possibly damaging the GT 'formula' etc...

True if the crashed cars looked crappy (visually, not just because they're broke ;) ), then people will start complaining, so they have to get it right if they're able to include it in the game (manufacturer restrictions and all)

Its because GT stands for simulation meaning any damage has to be very relastic not only to the outer shell of the car but how if effects the car. (engine, axels, etc)

So the PS2 would have to run mechanichal and more physics calculation in order to do so. THere are many cars that have damage in other games.

And he also said that after stating about wanting to get damage that ´"comanpies are realising the importance not to be left out of a best seller game"...you get the point from that.

And if you complain that your car would get destroyed and it would be too hard to earn cash then...........get insurance!

Cheers

PS: How can you think that PS1 would be able to handle at all great engineering, mechanical and physics calculations in real time? Get yourself one of those progs and try to run them on your PC. And its not easy to obtain such programs, so they [makers of GT] would have to make one or buy from other companies.

Pushrod is right. In NFS (Project Gotham comes to mind as well), there is only slight damage (windows broken, scratches, dents). Obviously, that's not realistic. PD wanted realistic damage and the auto makers said no.

Ah damn, well I hope the developer gets them to agree

See. the fact that the cars in The Getaway were liscenced doesn't matter. The thing is since GT4 strives for as REAL as possible, they'd almost "need" a REAL example of a messed up car. While in NFS's case and The Getaway(which is the worste PS2 game ever And I wasted my money on it) they could just warp the textures because their fans wern't lookin for a Driving simulator, and they didn't strive for that like Polyphony does. I'm in no way speaking for polyphony, but I'm sure many people would agree with me that Polyphony is an "All or nothing" company. They won't include a car in GT4 based on specs and pictures alone. They need to test it. in the same affect they wouldn't just "invent" damage areas on cars.

i agree about PD

and i also agree about the piece of crap i also wasted my money on called THE GETAWAY:yuck:
