Oh my god... I can't believe it's gone, Oran Park is gone, what a sad day, I know this thread is a bit old, but I've only just found out, bye bye Oran Park :(

if anyone was there for the final 2009 Nsw state round (last ever race) im sure they will remember the final formula race being a tough battle between 95 alan price and leigh burgess. It was a great way to leave the track. like many others i broke down in tears. being 15 i only had oran park for the latter years, but my first memory of life is sitting in a formula holden my dad owned in the pits, and going to the track about once a month for testing for years. i am almost elegible for my p plates and ppl condem us for driving to fast. but in reality most of us would rather do it a racetrack. Taking away our rights 2 to that is what leads to street racing, not just our stupidity.

Building racing circuits won't cut down on fatalities among young adults. Just the other day I was followed down a very difficult mountain road by a guy who clearly thought he was Lewis Hamilton. He tailgated me most of the way down, and he performed some really aggressive moves, obviously trying to intimidate me into pulling over. But I couldn't go anywhere because of the sheer drop on one side, and he couldn't pass me because I was the fourth car in a convoy and there wasn't enough room to pass four in one go. He was an accident waiting to happen to somebody else, and probably a fatal one at that. Building a racing circuit won't fix his attitude to driving.

Actually, the entire housing estate will have streets named for legends of Australian touring cars. There was a huge rush to buy number five on Peter Brock Avenue.

Hi, ive got a few oran park touring car races on dvd from the 80's,90's & 00's. Does anyone have any others? Id be willing to swap.
