I think you both were...lol..:dopey:

I wasn't being sarcastic at all. Frankly I find it weird that I'm the only one questioning the claimed FPS drop in GT5. I have never seen GT5s frame rate even get near 30fps, for me it's always ran silky smooth, even with a full grid in the rain. I've never had a problem. Maybe sometimes when coming across the start/finish line in a time trial I've had it skip a beat, but literally I've never seen any fps drops ever. GT5 has always ran silky smooth for me. And I can tell when FPS even gets near 40 FPS because I play a lot of PC sims that I set to run around that, and I've never seen GT5 get even near that.

Are you guys running PS3 Fats or something? Because I'm honestly surprised. You sure it's not lag you're thinking of?

Have 5 people in Peugeot 908s go down the Mulsanne at night flashing headlights. You will.

Note: Do NOT do this if you're epileptic.

I've seen frame rate drops but pretty much only at Monaco and that's due to the track itself. There are parts of it that regularly suffer frame rate drops due to the upscaling of the track. Other than that it always runs smooth for me (barring lag).

This article goes into a lot of detail about the great lengths they went to in order to stay as close to 60fps as possible at all times. It's incredibly informative and explains a lot of the things in the game that seem weird.

I can see the images fine. Is anybody else having problems seeing them?

all I see are the links to the images. every thread, every post, all I see are links to the images. What do I need to do to see the images instead of the links?

... Will there will be assigned colors and numbers? I would like to put dibs on the #76 with Yellow Paint and Black wheels.

There shouldn't be links in every post, only a few have images and the rest are just text. Are you viewing on the web or using a mobile app? I'm posting the Imageshack link just like I always have and everything displays fine for me.

There will be a place to reserve colors and numbers in the official thread which should be up sometime this week. I have all the pieces I need, just gotta get it together in a thread.

I also use ImageShack and have never had trouble seeing any images on GTPlanet until this particular thread in the last week or so. Bizarre...

Problem was on my end. I had to fix my settings to show images. Not sure how it got set to not show images.

Been there done that man. Actually I've had a lot more than 5. Nothing. Do you have a PS3 Fat? I'm wondering if it only happens to fatty's

TomBrady;

Do you or anyone else get on Ferrari T.R.E. anymore?

I haven't tried lately. Been kinda busy between GT5, Iracing, and all the free games I got from PSN. If you want to race sometime message. I should be down for a few

I've had some crazy races at monaco and even there, I've never noticed it even slow down. But thanks for the link. Interesting stuff.

Means nothing. If you didn't experience something, it doesn't mean others are either doing something wrong or have older PS3s. There were plenty of deniers when GT5 phantom lag issues started happening, who were suggesting that others are just slow, or need to stop their torrents before playing, or need to upgrade to slims etc.

I usually get framerate issues @Sarthe and GVR. Headphone connection issues are new.

Can you send me the image via PM so I can see if it shows up there?

I've noticed some general weirdness with images too: Working in GoogleDocs, I cannot put the new Silvia image into a spreadsheet. GoogleDocs simply says there is no image at that URL. I even took a copy of the image (no copyright infringment intended Brandon!) and put it in a public DropBox folder - Googledocs still cannot see it.

JP - What browser are you using? Can you see the Silvia Cup image on the OP?

Can everyone see this copy of the Silvia image (on public dropbox)?

Or how about this (rather washed out but only 10% of the original size) amended version?

EDIT: The original image is some 600kb in size and it appears that GoogleDocs doesn't like image files of this size. Perhaps your web settings are set with similar restrictions (although I don't know how you would do this). Or perhaps the US has an export restriction on JPG files over 500kb!

EDIT #2: Or how about this version? (RGB as opposed to CMYK)
silviacupRGB.jpg

EDIT #3: Just tested this on a Windows XP machine with Internet Exploder 8 - It won't display the original Silvia image nor the 'Silvia Cup' image. It does show the amended versions of the images. Under Windows 7 and Internet Exploder 9, all the images are shown. Firefox shows all images as do Opera and Firefox on my phone.

Sherlock signing off!

I can see all of the original and amended images from my desktop and mobile browsers, but they are a fruit of a different color... *flame suit on*

I can see "coming soon" in the OP but not the picture below it.

I believe I'm on XP with IE8.

RDAardvark, do you think file size could be the issue? I export them at 300 dpi and then have Imageshack format them for "message board 640x480".

This one was exported at 150dpi so it should (in theory) be half the size. Can everyone see this one?

I think it is because the image is CMYK, not RGB. If you save them as RGB, all is well in every browser I've tried (windows and android).

That one shows up fine in IE8 on XP.

Phew!

p.s. Plus RGB is only 48kb compared to 642kb for the CMYK version!

I work in printing, to us RGB is a bad word and all my export presets are setup for CMYK. I'll have to create a new one for web use that's RGB.

JP, did the RGB image above work for you?
