@ brandon, that's cool mate, I wasn't considering it for the AWD just that I have never used the alfa, but I'm glad to see you considered it, also I think the car list for these sort of cars excluding what you have are:-
Subaru STC,
FTO STC,
Alfa STC,

and maybe the:-
GTR R35 TC
RX-7 TC

but anyway, I like the car list and the idea, I have spread the thread around some other fella's to try gain some more interest for you guy's,

The Subaru TC and FTO TC would have to be dialed back quite a bit but they might work. I considered them but never got around to testing them. The GT-R GT Academy car did test well. This was at 525pp on SH tires.

I think I might have been around 2:05. Which Audi are you using?
You scared me with the 2:00. First runs got me 2'04.3 in the Astra, 2'04.8 in the CLK, but I'm sure the faster guys will cut a few seconds off that.

Btw, in your upper-most "The Cars" picture, the text says Opel Calibra '94 on the right-hand side but the image is of an Astra. Could you clarify that?

Oops, I probably copied/pasted the wrong info, I'll fix it tomorrow. Thanks for pointing that out. I did wonder how the same car could be that much older. :dunce:

If anyone hits a 2:00.000 without draft in a a non-RX7 they get a 1000 ticket from me.

After last nights testing, most of the cars seem close.
The Astro touring car and the CLK felt like they could run in the 2:02.XXX
The A4 is "interesting" at first I thought it was slow but if I looked at the sectors I had my fastest T2 in the car and on one lap I almost had a 2:03.2. Most of the time I was in the low 2:04s in it. It was very hard to get a good lap in.
The RX-7 was very fast down the straight. It would be hard to handle in a pack but if you can break away in it I don't think anyone is catching up.
The rest seemed to top out at around 2:03.7XXX with room for a little more.

Might just run the A4, seems like it could be fun.

The RX-7 is fast. I ran a few stints of 2-4 laps back and forth between the Astra and the RX-7, and while under an open track they turn similar times(2'03.149 and 2'02.9xx, respectively) they achieve them very differently. The Astra is more planted, being a real racecar, allowing sometimes several more kph to be carried through the esses. The RX quickly makes it all up in the straights, though. The RX also does destroy its tyres in short notice, with difficulty putting the power down. It is really just an RM street car, and you feel it there. It is really forgiving with mistakes, because it has the power to overcome. The Astra is tighter, but the RX is really a monster.

I believe I have the M3, the TT, and the CLK I can test later. I still have yet to acquire the A4. The CLK looked mean in the esses.

That's pretty much what I've found. At first I thought the A4 was going to be way slower but after several laps it came around and was on par with the others. Same with the CLK. They all feel very similar to drive and I think it should drake for some really good racing. I quite enjoy seeing/hearing the variety of cars on the grid. I also hoped that the A4 would be a little bit more of a challenge so the faster guys could drive that and maybe bring a little more balance to the field. 👍

Just to be clear, the RX-7 TC is only an option if somebody doesn't have/can't acquire any of the 6 approved cars. I think all 6 of the cars are unable to be traded so I figured I should have a readily available (presuming the DLC has been purchased) back-up car. Ideally there will be no RX-7's on the grid come race day.

This has been mended. 👍

The CLK felt like it's glued to the track. I never really got up to its limit. It's a little low on power in the low range, making a 10/10 corner exit required.

But it has higher downforce numbers so it ends up balancing out pretty well and provides a bit of a different feel compared to the other cars. My hopes are that if everyone can find one of the cars that really fits their driving style than everyone will do a little better and perhaps we'll have some really close racing. 👍

Made It!

I was watching the DTM stuff recently at the Red Bull Ring I think it was. Got me stoked for some DTM action.

Phew! I've no problem being 3 seconds a lap slower than Carr - That's quite good for me!

I've only got four of the cars and so far have only driven the TT and Beemer, with the TT being the easier to handle of these two. Hopefully I'll get the Disastra out this evening.

Here are some of my motorsports related holiday gifts, thought I'd share. :)

Porsche Computer Mouse (that lights up!)

Lots of DVD's with historic racing footage

I have only seen behind "Le Mans", it was good.
"80 years of formula 1 on-board" looks epic.

Those movies look like some good watching. :)

I'll be driving a Red Bull livery for sure.

Probably hard to see in the pic but it's 50 years, and I'm quite excited about that one. I watched Once Upon a Wheel and the Can Am one already, the first one was cheesy but fun (hosted by a young Paul Newman, with a cameo from a 7 year old Michael Andretti). The Can Am one was incredible, narrated mostly by Sam Posey it starts at the beginning of the series ('67 I believe) and has a synopsis, with video footage, of nearly every race up to '73. Really incredibly, lots of focus on the Chaparells and McClarens. "The Automobile: Hit of the Century" is 3 discs and something like 300minutes long, should be fantastic. 👍

I'd like to give this a go If I may. :scared: Not sure what car I'll be using. Most likely, just Tuesday.

I've watched the 50 years of F1on-board and Can-Am DVD's you have there, both are very entertaining.

Just had my mind blown. You can roll a car online now.

Kinda. I bet if you watch the replay it won't show you rolling over though (or so I've heard). I've come close but haven't fully flipped one online yet. But, please do elaborate!! :)

Looking forward to racing with you again Ace! 👍

I may be around for some practice tonight, sometime after 8pm EST. I'll post here when I know for sure.

Daytona, dirty nascar room.

I didn't save the replay (game crashed getting ready for the next race). It was a real 100% clean barrel roll. The car normally stops at a point but this time it kept going.
I'll see if it can be repeated.

I've heard it can happen but the replay won't show it happening, like the game is trying to cover it up or something.

I should be online around 8:30 EST for some practice.

I am in the Champ lounge for some practice, feel free to join.

EDIT: not anymore.

I should be online around 8/8.30 GMT, depending on what time my youngest goes to sleep!
