Anyone intersted in a longer race tonight? Maybe 20 Laps at either Cape Ring Full, Deep Forrest, or Trial Mountain?

Longer - sure. Those tracks - not so sure. Personally I dislike'em all.

Registration is still open with the season kicking off early next month. Sign yourself up!
With 4 nights a week we used to run it was less of an issue, but this time I think we'll have to decide what to do if more than 16 people want to show up. And I think that's the reason people are asking.

Where? Is it on TV?

Indy. I'm sitting at the beginning of the braking zone into Road Course turn 1. :)

I'll probably have to close registration once we hit 15 registered for both nights.

Sign up the rest as reserve and they can watch the thread for one of us to ask for reserve to enter.

I usually watch the threads up to green flag. So no issues for me on Friday doing this.

Dan I'm flexible. Carr yea tonight.

Well looking like we have a lack of interest tonight.

If you guys wanna meet up and do some racing post here. Otherwise I'm gonna get on MW3.

Reserves for sure. You're usually lucky to get 2/3 attendance at any particular race.

Generally, yes. But looking at the registration list I'm pretty sure we'll be seeing high levels of attendance. :sly: But we will have one or two reserves.

There will probably a couple of Tuesday or Friday dates that I'll miss due to work, haven't looked that far ahead yet... A reserve or three could always be handy.

How was the Grand-Am race?

I am speaking for myself also. I've missed 4 weeks in a row of the Parity League in a Monday/Tuesday night, slot over work and personal commitments. It is mid- summer and I'd expect at least a few people in that boat.

For Brandon and any other Subaru enthusiasts in the thread...

I welcomed a new member to the family on Thursday... Meet my 2003 Subaru Impreza WRX, Midnight Black Pearl in color. I picked it up as a one owner car with 51,300 miles on it at purchase... The dealership took it in on trade and already had it priced well below book value for the car, and a little haggling landed me an even better offer that I couldn't refuse. It looks like a brand new car inside and out, paint is great, no rash or chips on the wheels, and the interior is mint. Carfax is totally clean, and shows that it was very well maintained by the previous owner.

So far I've got a Cobb Accessport and SF Intake/Airbox kit on order, so it will be Stage I in the near future. My next immediate concern will be finding some BBS STi take off's and new tires to put on it.

I still have my 2000 Impreza 2.5RS that I'm keeping as a daily/work driver... For having 193,000 miles on it, it's still very mechanically sound despite being rough around the edges. I hope to get another 50,000+ miles out of it.

^Congrats. Looks very clean. Miles are too low, so I'd service it fully as if the previous owner went by the mileage and never did 5yr & 7.5yr service. And do a compression test while at it.
Don't remember already, but I think WRX transmission was revised mid-modelyear in 2003, to make it stronger. Older ones were a bit on the weak side in terms of handing bumps in power.

Well I'm neither B or a Scooby enthusiast. However I do like anything designed with performance in mind. ;)

With that congrats.

Hey guys, sorry for the absence but I had a rather action packed weekend, filled with real racing and driving.

As I noted, I got to watch Brian Heitkotter race in the Continental Tire Challenge race at Indy Motor Speedway on Friday as well as the Rolex Grand Am series. It was a very exciting day of racing (and weather), but very exhausting too.

Here is our "hero", Mr. Heitkotter.

And here are some Grand Am shots.

On Sunday I went to a little town just north of me called Alexandria where they closed off the downtown streets and had go-kart racing! It was pretty dang cool.

@NCemtB, congrats on the new Bugeye! Based on the history of your 2.5RS I'd say it has found a very good home! Not to trump you in any way, but there is a new member to my extended Subaru family that I got to meet and drive this weekend.......my dad's new BRZ! A very, very fun and cool car! Not much power but the handling is incredible and it sounds beautiful!

Very nice... Congrats to your dad on the BRZ! I finally got to see one up close the other day, pictures don't do it justice. I'm especially partial to the white, or any Subaru in white for that matter. I'm sure he'll be very happy with it.

Pictures don't do it justice at all. It looks very exotic in person. My dad said in the first 24 hours he had it people have been staring, trying to race him, and asking what it is/if it's for sale. He had to stop at the Subaru dealership the day after he got it to sign some papers and he said within 20 minutes of being there about a half-dozen people had pulled in to talk to salesmen about buying it.

That go-kart street race looks awesome.

It was pretty cool for a little town! Looked like it would be tons of fun to do. Hoping they do it next year too, maybe by then I'll have purchased my own kart and convinced my boss to sponsor me. :)

I think you need to be a good son and buy him some aftermarket bits for Christmas... Perhaps this exhaust system? :sly:

He's not really an aftermarket guy, although he did respond positively when I mentioned getting better tires. Plus, the factory exhaust sounds fantastic! Has a decent volume and a very mean growl for such a tiny engine. It really makes me wish my WRX had some kind of noise to it, but it's so quiet with the factory exhaust that I forget to shift because I can't hear the damn thing. I want to fix it so it sounds better but it's rather expensive to do (two mufflers).

I'm guessing an Intake would do wonders for the BRZ but I'll wait until some other guinea pigs have tinkered with it to see what works best. We've talked about it and I will likely purchase the BRZ from him in a couple years, so that should give the aftermarket plenty of time to create some tasty go-fast bits for it. :)

You're right, it doesn't sound bad stock... But a deeper, more aggressive sound (and performance increase) is always better!

I'm not at all surprised at how much the Subaru tuning community has embraced this car, and how quickly they've turned out aftermarket options, probably quicker than with any other model. There's certainly no shortage of great parts with tons more to come!

Isn't it a 2 litre?

Tried looking it up and it's not yet available in the UK! Surprising as the Japanese version would be right-hand drive so it's an easy export.

I'm sure that somebody (DSG!) will correct me if I'm wrong, but adding a "performance" exhaust doesn't really do anything to increase performance on a naturally aspirated car. At least not anything worth mentioning. Now if it had full intake and headers then maybe some hi-flow cats and a full exhaust would add a couple ponies but by itself it's just gonna sound good.

But...........my dad is 62 and doesn't want it to sound any louder than it does already so all of that stuff will have to wait until it (hopefully) becomes mine. :)

Yeah, it's only 2 litER. For us 'Mericans that's rather small. My previous Impreza was 2.5L, but Boxer engines don't sound like a normal 4cyl engine and the BRZ does sound like it has something bigger under the hood. Doesn't really feel like 200hp but I may have been spoiled by my turbo. :)

Can I sign up as a reserve??? Since there is 16 DRIVERS. I can fill in if needed. :dopey:

::EDIT::

Signed up for Tuesday only.
