I've read through a lot of tuning guides, not just the ones here, and I'm still a little confused at times concerning the order that things should be tuned in. Obviously you are always dealing with traction, speed, and oversteer/understeer, but there are always multiple ways to go about trying to get a desired result, and situations can be a bit unclear as to what should be adjusted and what should not.
For example, according to one guide - increasing front ride height can lessen oversteer in fast corners, but so also can adjusting wing settings, or caster settings (not in GT5).
The same can be said for suspension settings. Spring rates can affect grip over bumpy surfaces, but so can simply adjusting dampers, so which do you do? Tire pressure also figures into this in other games.
I suppose what I may be looking for is some sort of ratio system that keeps the whole thing in a balance within the individual parts of the tune. However, I also wonder if balance is not necessarily the most advantageous setup in every case either, and I'm sure it's probably not in some situations.
This all becomes even more complicated when you then consider that things like controller sensitivity can affect turn in response, etc. Can anyone point me in a direction to get more acquainted with this? Like I said, I've read the guides here, but I still feel unsure about some of the situations I've explained.
