Having a little bit of a headscratcher with the Team Oreca Dodge Viper cars. I have both the #51 and #91 cars with exactly the same upgrades and tuning on, but despite this my speedtest top speed runs show a difference of nearly 20mph.

My suspension is set in the "front high, rear low" setting, with all other settings at their softest setting, camber and toe at zero and 20/70 wing settings. The gearbox has a theoretical top speed of 303mph.
Both cars have these exact same same settings, so it's nothing to do with tuning.

The #51 managed to hit 239mph, whilst the #91 blasted through that target and on to 258mph, despite the fact that the stats are all exactly the same. (apart from a strange 2pp decrease for the lower mileage car!)

Oreca #51
1150Kg
833bhp@6800rpm
91.8kgfm@6300rpm
1.36Kg/BHP
686pp@2143.4miles

Vs.
Oreca #91
1150Kg
833bhp@6800rpm
91.8kgfm@6300rpm
1.36Kg/BHP
688pp@4525.3miles

Despite having the same power, torque figure and power graph, the #51 seems to lose all of this power once you get past 220 or so mph, something the other car does not. I just don't understand why there's such a huge difference between these completely identical cars, it's really messing with my head!

If you look at their liveries in the game, one has Dodge all over it and the other has Chrysler all over it. I don't know of any mechanical differences.

Edit: I guess the Chrysler version was run in Europe and the Dodge version in America.

I've always guessed that the #51 has some kind of screwup with the aerodynamics (higher drag, essentially) that the PP takes into account but probably shouldn't be there, as I had driven both of them at lower speeds and never noticed any real difference (but had never bothered top speed testing them). Your testing seems to confirm that suspicion.

As to why there is a performance difference... Who knows? It wouldn't be the first race car in the game that should have identical stats but is completely different.

I must admit, the speedtest performance was very similar to the GT500 cars with the 51, in so much that it'll get a higher top speed if you gear it for 5 gears, rather than 6. Almost as if there's a restrictor in the system to level the series' top speeds. Could it be that the 51 was supposed to be in a different formula to the 91?

I'll try to get a video of the two dragging side by side to show how much difference there is.
