Orignal Vs Racing suspension?

Firstly, so sorry if this has been posted before. I have done a quick search with no luck.

QUESTION: What are the differences between Original suspension (16500 PAL credits) vs Full Racing suspension (17000 credits).

So far, the only difference is the ability to change damper with Full Racing suspension. If this is the only difference, then what is the point of having the Original suspension?

Cheers

PS Just to make it clear what I'm on about, in the suspension menu, there are 4 options

Sports Suspension, Semi-race, Race and Original. Its the last two that have me a tad perplexed........

From what i've experienced with my supra, the spring rate can be set higher with original suspension than with Racing suspension. Also the cars ride height can be set lower than with the racing suspension. Its all about how stiff you like your suspension, choose what you prefer. IMO original is better (larger range of spring rate and height adjustment) but if you like playing around with Bound and rebound shock absorber settings and know how to use them effectively take the racing suspension.

To add to what mig2jz said:

Basically as far as the dampers are concerned, racing suspension allows for separate adjustability of bound and rebound. Original suspension has a one stop adjust, where adjusting the damper automatically adjusts the bound and rebound to compensate.

A real life comparison would be a shock like a Tokico Illumina, that has 5 adjustable stiffness levels (original), and a full Penske shock setup for a race car (racing).

Gotcha, thanks both for the replies. I've decided to go with the Race sus for my first car (GT-R). 👍

It seams really pointless that there are two different suspension options 500 credits (basically nothing for the non-PAL users) that virtually do the same thing...

Not pointless. For those people that can't figure out/don't want to deal with bound and rebound, and how it affects the car, the original suspension package is a nice thing to have. Basically the suspension package does the work for them (figuring out bound/rebound rates to the stiffness setting they desire).
