Lost-on-drugz
after a week of no gt-5 good luck to all the drivers for de lar sarthe , ill jump in the race at monza in the rain but thats all,
Oh and mick re your earlier comment about white knight chroniciles i just about brought it the other day i was in the store and was tossing up between la noire dirt 3 and that game LOL, sad it even came with white knight chronicles 1 with number 2 :)

see u for some testing spin for the teggy!

Aww nuts, pretty disappointed in you lost, everyone has a **** weekend but they never quit, imagine if vettel quit after the nurb race. The joys of racing are the highs and lows of it, I didn't even start race 3 coz I forked up and drilled will on the warmup (sorry again lol)

We need to bring in a rule, once you leave the pits during qualifying, AUTO rear of grid start, I did it last week and stuffed the rolling start, like in f1 if you make changes you get penalized.

Brilliant to see another championship following in after the S15 RM. Was unable to attend last series , ill carry on scrolling the threads for a fresh league to join,

Dilusion, you can take my place.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend this race either due to work.

And the next two after that as I'll be interstate, again due to work commitments. So sorry guys, but it's been hectic and I just can't find the time. been working 50+ hour weeks.

Cheers.

^^^ Haha!

And he was never seen again . . . on GT5

Oh and Spinner nice set-up!! Looks good

Sorry to hear Bonson , you've gotta do what you've gotta do though.

Thanks for the comments on the cockpit. Lost , you wait and see the blingy **** I have planned for it ! I had a thought lat night....carbon fibre GT stripes ! :dunce:

I think quite a few people are bored of this series, no one has intentions to practice and once they crash there's no effort into trying to make it up. I have no idea what can improve it but I'm having fun just racing for ***** and giggles at the moment

I agree with taitail on this one i crashed first lap trying to aviod traffic my own fualt as it steped out and i couldnt regain it at the first chichane.
after i finaly got to the pits damaged up car i missed the pits and got a short cut penalty didnt even know were it was so had to drive backwards looking for the pits LMAO would be funny to p[ut in the video mick haha
then just keept crashing i think i managed 1 clean lap out of 11 keept catching people then keept bailing under brakes esp car just hooks one way for some reason blah

lol Taital, theres always something to laugh at.:D

I made the silly mistake at the start by just trying to cruise the corners and get slip on the straights; it caused me to loose rythm and get to far behind...once I lost slip that was it. Then I made another stupid mistake of pitting twice...that really stuffed me up.:ouch:

I'll let you know ahead of time Xerxe;
I cut a few times..even missed the first chicane down the Mulsanne straight had to go through the tyres which cost me time.
That and a few times I came onto Mulsanne straight I over ran the corner...but I'm sure I didn't gain anytime from any cuts. Just annoyed me.:indiff:

Needless to say, next race I will test pit strategy's alot more! Xerxe's pit strategy of only 1 pit has done him alot of favors over the last 2 races! Well done mate.;)👍

Ohh and Spinner; Carbon Fibre style GT logo would be just stylin'. :D
Should be easy to do aswell!

It is massively frustrating when you spend a lot of your GT time during the week gone to waste over a tire glitch.

When you select your compound in the 'setup' menu not the settings one. That compound stays until you change it yourself in the pits. It's worked ALL the time in practise mock races, come race day it switches on me but I was only pulling high 3'38's to low 3'39's... which is what I was doing in a mock race on mediums and my speeds where leveling as well... which is why no alarm bells where ringing... come to think about it.. it could have been another glitch? but I DQ'd myself just in case.

With Monza I will start the Qualifying on Mediums and change to softs after a install lap... If it happens after that, then this is really 🤬

I will consider your offer however would i need the team colour? , Who runs the championship race night - Anyone run practice sessions?
Feel free to add me to playstation network ( Dilluzion )

To explain my odd move at the grid. I pulled into my start position, then went to hold the brake . . . some part of my brain wasn't working right and I pressed the START button which brings up the in race menu and kicks in the auto-pilot which launched me forwards. There was a few panicked seconds where I had to work out what I'd just done and find the exit icon {Continue}

I was so scared :scared: I was going to hit all the guys sitting ahead of me. I was 2/3rds of the way through the grid so I just continued out the front of the pack and drove back around on the track apron. Also I had rear damage from the parade lap (see below) so the idea of stopping and reversing back to my grid box was not too smart as I might have lost control of the car trying to do it.

Now with the damage, I had hit the wall in the parade lap, totally my fault, I think I was reading something off the screen and not watching the road. The damage didn't seem that bad once we got going, it was left rear damage. But I found out that under heavy braking that the car wanted to turn around on me. That was Mulsanne chicane No1, I had to drive across the sand = 10sec penalty. I later hit the wall causing more damage.

BTW: After pitting to get the damage repaired I put a message out that I was doing a drive through for my blatant jump of the start - that was a joke guys.

After the race I thought about it. I would have preferred to stop on the parade lap pull off the track surface and put the handbrake on some 100metres before pit-lane entrance and type out a quick message saying that I had damage and was going to start from there. Then once we all start I could then drive into the pits, get repairs done and not have had to drive the whole lap with damage.

Just wondering if that sounds like an option? In some race series there's an option to start from pitlane.

With GT5 you can hold it in the pits, but the drive out might have you coming out right into the main pack - likely to cause issues. Or it might even give you a little advantage over some of the guys if your pit-box is right at the front of pit-lane. So stopping before pit entry sounds the best option.

Hi mate,
If you replace Bonson you will be teamed with Spinner and need to paint your IS F "Isotope Green" it is available from the Lotus Evora in the NCD. 👍
Oni_chan is who you need to add for the race nights and add me also (X3rx3s44) as I host alot of the practice sessions through the week! Look forward to seeing you on the track! ;)

I agree with you Mick, starting just at the entry to pitlane is the better choice! 👍 Then, as Oni types up the start time, anyone awaiting pit-lane entry can enter at the same time as we launch from the line! 💡
This would work well IMO, so I have no objection to this being allowed!

Cheers, Xerx :)

EDIT:
Hey guys, wondering if there are any spots left in this league?

Sorry mate, missed your post! It is possible you could grab a spot on one of two teams, depending on how fast you are! ;)
Add me on PSN (X3rx3s44) and Oni_chan also as he runs race nights and I try and run as many practice sessions as possible throughout the week! :sly:

Cheers mate!

As for the corner cutting, as long as no-one gained an advantage I could not care less! ;) I don't want to actively give out penalties, it is more of just a threat, but if someone is blantantly breaking the rules and trying to gain an advantage then I would not hesitate in recommending to Oni that a penalty be applied!... :nervous:
As it turns out, I don't expect any penalties will be given in this race at least, but I would hope that everyone has enough repect for each other that they don't feel the need to try and get away with cheating...

Not a good race for me last night. I wasn't expecting Spin to brake where he did, and went straight up the back of him.
Really sorry man, I got front end damage from that so I'm thinking I probably gave you damage as well.
Then I tried to brake for a tight corner and went straight into the wall, the damage meant I just went straight forwards and couldn't turn. Race over.
I pitted but was very far behind by this stage. Then I had to go all of a sudden (long story), but I stayed logged in incase me leaving the room disturbed the server for whatever reason.
All in all, a race I'd rather forget 👎
Sorry again Spin, hope I didn't ruin your race.

No worries mate. I'm PSN friends with rota and I've seen him in a few practice sessions so might join him and see what times I can post :)

Yeah I figured thats what happened; your brain in the hurry said to stay stopped, pause the game lol.:D

Mike: You didn't give me any damage , I was worried that you quit purely because that might have been the reason. I'm glad it wasn't !

I did brake a bit early there but Taital had spun in front of me and I was being cautious. I really wanted to try and get through this race without any silly mistakes that meant crawling back to the pits with damage.

Just watched the replay , what a nail biting finish ! ;) I didn't realise so many people ran out of fuel.

Thanks Lost for being race official at the grid up too. That was brilliant. No confusion as to qual places and Rusty got back his P4 despite the d/c. Nice.

Waynz: wtf. How do you keep stuffing that up ? If it's auto selecting the wrong tyre compound on pit entry , move your cursor up and select the correct one.

I took a few pics...

Nice mate, they look good! 👍

I had most of the day off today so I thought I would get in and get the photos done early so I can move on and start preparing for next weeks race rather than leave it to the weekend as I did this week... :scared:

I am still rather disappointed in that my fuel ran out even though the game determined I had enough... All I had to do was circulate with such a big lead but even the lead of over 20 seconds (without pushing too hard) was not enough to get me across the line first... :( What a gift for Stig!... I lose 10 points off what my championship lead should have been (+5 for Stig and -5 for myself) as a result... 👎

As Rusty said earlier though, it all came down to the pit strategy! The fact that I made one less stop meant that as long as I maintained good rhythm I needed not to push the car and I had it in the bag once I saw that Waynz and Stig both pitted on lap 6 (2-stop range)... Oh well, you live and learn...

So, on to the photos! Again, I had over 40 shots from the race as people diced for position, really nothing happening in the last 3-4 laps though so that was anti-climatic... Was also disappointed that we qualified in the dark and then did the parade lap in the dark but then had all daylight from start to fnish... I had done more testing in the dark than the daylight to familiarise myself with the circuit at night in anticipation...

Round 4 (Circuit de la Sarthe) Highlight Reel - Photographed by X3rx3s44

CircuitdelaSarthev3.jpg

Here we are all lined up on what was quite a busy-looking grid area with markings for bikes and markings for two types of cars...

CircuitdelaSarthev4.jpg

As the leaders exit the first chicane and run down towards the Dunlop bridge it appears as though everyone got off the line clean and the battle was on... Also, Wanyz ran a little wide... ;)

CircuitdelaSarthev8.jpg

One lap almost down and it is tight at the top as 4 cars battle for the win separated by the final chicane ONLY! I cannot speak on behalf of the others at the front but I was very impressed with how close and clean we raced for the entire first stint before I got released as everyone else made the first of their 2-stops... :D

CircuitdelaSarthev12.jpg

This was the moment when 4 at the front became 3. Rusty ran wide and took to the escape road to avoid an accident, unfortunately in doing so he lost a chunk of time and with it the tow from us at the front... Rusty, those arrows are pointing you in the right direction... :sly:

CircuitdelaSarthev13.jpg

This was a great random shot I came across during the first stint! As you can see I was hard on the anchors to pull myself up for the first of the Mulsanne chicanes.

CircuitdelaSarthev24.jpg

Evan and Taital fly by as Spin and Rota rejoin after making their first round of scheduled stops... This was shaping up to be a good 4 way battle! 👍

CircuitdelaSarthev26.jpg

Then I realised Taital had not stopped... So Evan got a gap on fresher rubber as Taital struggled to keep the Lexus under control... :nervous:

CircuitdelaSarthev28.jpg

The wheelspin and slide by Taital allowed both Spin and Rota past along the first section of Mulsanne, when they all got to the chicane however, Spin and Rota both wanted the same piece of tarmac... :scared: Fortunately, they both made it through unscathed... I don't know how though! It was very, very fine margins there!

CircuitdelaSarthev31.jpg

And again, at the end of the lap in the final double chicane complex Spin and Rota battle for position! Although this time it looks unintentional as it appeared that Spin missed his braking marker and dived under Rota and off the circuit to avoid contact but Rota did not see him until too late! Again, both cars escaped unscathed... But for Spin's "short-cut" penalty... :yuck:

CircuitdelaSarthev37.jpg

From then on the race was quite tame with everyone getting quite a good gap between each other so nothing much more to photograph... Until Rusty got the the finish line that is... 👍 Good circle work there mate! :sly:

So, that concludes the photos from Round 4, as always I hope you like them. I think I am improving the quality of my shots as I get more practiced at using the 'Photo Mode' rather than 'Photo Travel' which was all I had really done previously, except a photo here and there from the various online races which I have done and had good close battles during.

Again, feedback is welcome! :nervous:

Cheers, Xerx :)

I'm going to have to take some photos of my massive off on lap 1, my car on medium tyres in 3rd gear had no grip and just slid sideways lol but if I didn't down shift the car wouldn't point in right and I'd loose time due to low revs for the gear selection. I'm pretty strong at monza so looking forward to a test room this week

^^^ Good photos all!

Some of Spinner's ones have that long lens feel, gives it a strong sense of realism. Like they were taken by a trackside photographer.

Lol I love how all the race action is me and spin stuffing up haha that was a fun race for me and spin and couldn't stop laughing the whole way

Great work spinner and Xerx. There are great shots. This is a great track for this car. I was really happy with the car setup. I had a plan to pit lap 6, change to softs and finish on the faster tyres.

Had a good start, but stuffed the braking into the first chicane on the back straight, had to straight line and rejoin the pack. I lost a few spots. Battled on and gained a few more positions. Hit the wall at the tight right hander lap 4. Limped to pits with front left hand and engine damage, slipped on softs came out of pits way down the order.

Can I put 12 laps on a set of softs? Let's see.

Also I needed to make up some time, so I hooked in.

Just put lap after lap of good clean laps, watching my tyre wear.
Had close moments with Rota and Spinner, tyres still looking good.

Two laps to go running in 5th place with Jol catching on fresh tyres,
looked at the fuel, HOLY &@$?/@ I don't think I'll make it to the pits. Coasting around at 80 kph, slipped back to 10th.

All my own fault. Should have monitored that. Shame, I was having a great race.

Anyway, just like to say that this is a fantastic car, really happy with my setup which is the same one I have used since tokyo.( apart from gearing)

Monza in the wet!!!

Reckon there will be carnage!!!

Hard to get the power down, hard to pull it up.

Evan

Yeah thanks Lost for helping get the race underway with less confusion.

Fantastic photos boys...genuinely great shots that use compositional techniques to enhance visual appeal!!...lol thats sounds gammin' as.
But its true!:D

Haha I cracked up when I saw your photo of my Circle work!!👍
Thanks again to all who have submitted photo's from thsi series; I think it really adds something, always a pleasure to see the race just gone in photos!

Your right Evan...carnage and damage will definitely keep Monza's pit crews busy.:scared:

I'll be running a practise room up tomorrow since I have no work or other commitments...

I'll be online from 12 and keep it on all day.. With the odd Fiat 500 race (in the wet with comfort hard's) .. Ohhh yyeeeaaahhhh ...

^^^ Good photos all!

Spot on Mick. I can't afford a 500mm f2.8 telephoto lens in real life so its great to play with a virtual one :) I think X's photos tell a story really well , mine are more about a car or driver and nothing else. My favorite was the one of Rusty , great stance on the car. Closely followed by X and Aussiestig on lap 1. The morning light is so good in this game.

Rusty: Carbon fibre GT logo. You are an ideas man. Brilliant !

Had a couple practice runs with Rota this afternoon. Wasn't to bad but will let him explain how I went as I can't compare. :p

Ok i took some photo's after work tonight, only got upto lap 1 haha

6005294780_fc84ef5af6_z.jpg

Can you clasify this as a jump start? Haha nicely done mick !

6004749517_19441cbcbb_z.jpg

Perhaps mick thought he was the safety car for the parade lap..

6004750379_66f5a26a60_b.jpg

In the words of Murray Walker, IT'S GO GO GO ! (you can see i got a cracker start from 10th, in the middle !)

6005295332_139a76f7e7_b.jpg

Great move on the inside into turn 1!

6004752261_746c093bba_b.jpg

This was a lot closer then the camera angle lets on

6004752033_f6070637e7_b.jpg

This is where my race went to custard, one little touch of grass on the left sent me sideways to the right and from there i was a passenger, this was at the top of 8th gear in Rota's draft, i almost invested in a brown suite during this high speed off..

6004751397_f4ea38ca7a_b.jpg

Now incase you can't see it, the orange car facing 45 degrees the wrong way is Cowboy Rota on lap 1!

6004751181_c343e03106_b.jpg

Thought i'd join in on the glowing brake photo's

6005296558_78cdbd8f1e_z.jpg

Oh and i noticed Will was missing, found him spectating!

6005374352_2e40cbe979_b.jpg

If anyone missed it, this was Mic's first lap mishap haha

6005374094_3a12f37d4b_b.jpg

Another angle, if you look at the drivers head you can insert a caption like "Ah **** i think i'm meant to be over there.."

6004829899_2791695339_b.jpg

Noticed this nice little bit of information at the start/finish line

6004751577_f34e3d5259_b.jpg

This is a nice little action shot
