Hi all great race last night, it was certainly nervous going at the start, I was slip sliding all over the place on the first few laps, as many where. Definitely worth watching the replay for some exciting moments in those first few laps. Looking forward to seeing some action shots.
My race started pretty well, had some good battles with Oni, John, Lost, Rota and Boyce to name but a few. Found it quite hard to drive at night (went off twice on the same corner into the sand) and was guessing the fuel fill at times. Started to really come undone when I lost it coming out of one of the chicanes on Lap 25 I think (all my own expert doing) and collecting damage which slowed me right down. Topped it off with putting RM’s back on for the final stint instead of softs. Yep I’ve done that before.
Just a little official
ORS RACE STEWARDS business.
WRONG WAY GO BACK
Traveling in the opposite direction to the nominated race direction on a circuit for the purpose of gaining entry into the pits is not allowed in the ORS series. Specifically, if you pass the pit entry you're going round' for another lap.
In future, drivers found performing U-turn or reversing manoeuvres to ‘get back to the pits’ will have point penalties applied. Repeated infractions of this type will result in further action being taken.
WARNING – SPEED DETECTION DEVICE IN USE
The practice of entering the pits with no attempt made to slow to a reasonable entry speed for the purpose of gaining time advantage is not acceptable in the ORS series. Most circuits do have a limit on the maximum speed that entry can occur before you are ‘reset’ negating an excess speed advantage.
However at some tracks like La Sarthe – no reset penalty is in place and time gain can be made by entering the pits at excessive high speed. Please use some common sense here. If your auto drive cannot negotiate the pit entry driveway correctly - you are entering the pits too quickly.
Going forward, where required we will stipulate maximum acceptable speed limits for pity entry (with some tolerances) so everyone is clear on the requirement.
In future, penalties will be imposed on drivers found to be gaining advantage by not abiding by pit entry speed limits.
Thanks all,
Jas
