Ok, my problem is that I sent an email to myself with a file attached for a lab for one of my college classes. Now, because technology never seems to work the way it really should, Outlook 2003 has blocked access to the file. Is there anyway to get around this issue so that I can save the file to my harddrive?

I absolutely need the file and my only other option is to get the file from school again via another way. Isn't there an option to turn off blocking of attachments somewhere? Any help is appreciated.

Nevermind... I did a registry hack to temporarily gain access to the file type. There really should be a built in option to disable unsafe attachment blocking.

Thats strange, I'm pretty sure you get an option to open the blocked file when you get it. I'll see if I can work it out..

If you look in one of the menus. I can't remeber if it's tools or view, but there is an option. It's a safety option. Untick the box. This is on Outlook Express 6, so it should be on the new version too. I'll have a look and tell you the whole lot.

See, thats the thing, I can't find any option for disabling in it Outlook 2003. If you find it post a screenshot of it. I haven't had any luck finding it. It's almost as if they took it out completely.

I was able to gain access to the file via a temporary registry hack from microsoft's support site ( A solution from MS that actually works! 👍 ).
