Overrated countries...

In your opinion what is the most overrated country? By this I mean in how people percieve it or how they always rave about it being the best. Also how the country is military wise and its influence around the world, might disturb or worry you.

However we will exclude one country, because its the country everyone is likely to say first.

Excluding.....THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

Im not defending my country(i know it has many problems, and many dislike us) Yet i want to here about countries that other people have beef with.;)

1 - Burundi.

Nobody's ever mentioned it, as far as I know, but let's be brutally honest - any mention of it would be dearly over-rating it. I give it negative forty points.

I don't know... The Tutsi and Hutu tribes of Burundi, and neighbouring Rwanda, seem to be having a hell of a time killing each other recently. They've been doing it for years, but now they're really good at it, and we've sold them top-notch weaponry to do it with.

Plus Rwanda is the only country to have a flag with a massive "R" on it...

Is that their flag? Where's the rest of it? They can't even make a flag right. They have my vote too.

Either them or the country of Africa. There be dragons there ya know. :)

That's actually Nepal's flag, but you're right - they can't even do a simple task like that properly. I believe there's some type of signed pact among various countries (all of the UN?) calling for flags to be of uniform size, and Nepal is notably absent from that pact.

Switzerland also has a smaller than normal flag. What's the big deal anyway?


Paraguay is so overrated, it's not even funny. These guys think they're so hot.

It's square, though the surface area might be the same or very close. Then again, so might Nepal's. What the hell do I know? I'm just a dumb American.

Canada. Everyone hates this "country", but it's so absolutely worthless that it is still the most overrated country. No country could ever be more overrated.

That is, unless you count Australia as a country.
 
Canada has a few things going for it, Klos. Bacon, Crown Royal, and over the counter tylenol 3's. By the way, any Canadians want to mail me some T3's? I hear they're only like $5 for a bottle the size of a regular bottle of aspirin, and that makes me happy.
 
I don't know that it's codeine, that's just what I think - It could be something stronger. And it gets the job done in liberal doses.

I don't need any oxycontin (Coincidentally the most used drug in the state) to get me landed in jail and addicted to crack (It's like two molecules away from being crack, or so I'm told).
 
Yeah, that's what it was, my memory is terrible. I don't need to be addicted to heroin, either, so that's why I stick to my codeine and vicodin. Non-addicting recreational pills that are fun if taken in the right amounts.

Having had a think about this, I nominate:

Japan

Inherently racist, now dominated by a freakish version of Western culture in the wake of a people that, in terms of a national identity, lost their way after being defeated in World War II.

Their inherent ability to adapt to technology and refine makes them stand out, but ultimately they are the national equivalent to plastic. Product of the modern age, can be molded to any shape you want, but in terms of its own current form, in the absence of other form (including its own older past), characterless.
