Corner entrance: minute oversteer. But ever so slight.
Mid corner: neutral.
Corner exit: very very very minute understeer.

Maybe in looong races I'd prefer slight understeer at corner entrance as well, because it's easier to control when I'm tired and 90% of the time my rear tires wear out faster than front tires, resulting in hefty oversteer wich is a lot slower than hefty understeer.

So ehh.. it depends. 1 lap or long races.

Generally, do you prefer oversteer or understeer?

When I'm not doing a hot lap I like counter steering, in a car that is quite nimble and responsive it can be really enjoyable to ease the car around corners with the back end sliding slightly.

The only time I really don't like it is when I'm having to wrestle the car around to get all the tyres straight again.

Generally oversteer is better because a skilled driver can control oversteer and still put down a good time, even the worlds best driver cannot get decent laps in a car that has uncontrollable understeer.

Yes I do and how do I vote?

Click on the box next to oversteer and then I think you click on submit. I'm not sure because I have already voted so the box is not available and I'm not sure if there even is a submit button. Tell me if you are able to vote...

EDIT: 225 votes, yes!!! I wonder what's the highest amount of votes a poll has had on GTPlanet.

understeer its the worst thing ever! and you cannot do so much to avoid it. understeer its controllable with skills and if you tune well your car, you can limit oversteer

If you don't have Racing Soft tires on, putting them on will reduce understeer, right?

oversteer!!!! i even try in a FF car just for the fun of it!!! doesn't generally work out as well...

Oversteer is fun but for safety and lap times' sake understeer may be better.

With oversteer you're pretty much out of control until you countersteer and work the throttle to pull yourself out of the slide all while losing time doing it.

Understeer only happens when you exceed your steering tire's limit which you shouldn't do. Controlling understeer thus forces you to drive more cleanly and quickly.

I defiantly prefer a bit more oversteer than understeer because you can manage it a lot better in my opinion. Understeer is just a complete pain in the ass because you have to go through the corner so slow and you are constantly trying to correct it which makes it a pain. I don't like either at all but if I had to choose one it would be oversteer for sure. 👍

Did you vote for oversteer?

I prefer neither, but oversteer is more controllable.

But sadly, I think my time with GT5 has come to an undecided end. My wheel broke and I can't get a replacement. It was a cheap wheel a friend got me for my birthday a few years ago, and every time I try to fix it it gets worse.

1. No power
2. Keeps turning left
3. Wont stop braking and maybe turns left still.

Want to get a G27 or DFGT but they're too damn expensive.

Seems to me (haven't read all pages) most people are going to say they like oversteer because most of us aren't pro drivers and oversteer is much more correctable and less frustrating IMO. I think oversteer is VERY controllable if you know throttle control. Understeer, and I could be wrong entirely, but seems to me to be much much less forgiving with entry and exit lines, meaning throttle isn't gonna help as much if you're off on the line (unless you're willing to slow way down and ruin lap times).

I prefer oversteer, but I also don't drift or any of that spinny stuff. I just prefer to have 100 percent control of the car with my gas and brake pedals. I'm not good enough to compromise lines to share road space with other racers and still do well with understeery cars.

When my tires are bald it's a different story tho :D

Do racing soft tires reduce understeer?

The exact tires do not matter, it's the grip each end of the car has with the surface, if the rear has more grip than the front then there's understeer, if you put racing softs on the rear and racing hards on the front, you will introduce some understeer, but most of the time, the balance of the car determines how it'll act. If you enter too fast into a corner the frontend will nosedive upsetting the balance and can create either situation depending on what the rear is doing

If you put racing soft tires on the front, and comfort hard tires on the rear, will the car oversteer?

It'll be very hard to control even just throttle control depending on the amount of power, i put sports softs on my x2010 to see if i could do the glitch for my first time, and i barely made it to the glitch spot, i was just doing burnouts and donuts the entire time, so yes but be very careful

I prefer a little understeer above snap-oversteer.

I prefer a little oversteer above massive understeer.

I'm confused now.

Snap oversteer = driver throttle error. I prefer a car that is slightly on the understeering side but that you can break free with the throttle ( snap oversteer ;) )

Not necessarily. There are some cars in the game which tend to lose the back really fast over little bumps in high speed corners. Take an untuned Ruf BTR on SH tyres for example.
