Why does America think we Aussies are incapable of building a hardcore V8?
 
becuase they think their **** dont stink.

its proven that commodores are better built than vettes. drive better, brake better and are a hell of a lot more responsive.
 
well...when holden brought out the commodore in 1979, the only good thing about it was the engine. holden has been saved by sheer grunt when their cars were crap.
 
i traded my pajero in for a VP commodore this afternoon. i tell ya what, its got plenty o grunt. chipped 3.8 the previous owner reckons 176kW (239hp) and from the thump when i floor it, im inclined to agree.
 
i paid 400 bucks after i traded the pajero. best 400 bucks i ever spent :lol:
 
looking at it...i think im gonna get a VN front end...vps are butt ugly.
 
yeah i know thats why as a first car i want a VN or VR and if i can found i manual 1 would be good. If i dont i would go wreckers and buy 1
 
you manuals are pretty rare in VR/VS...even a manual VN is hard to get. but if you can get one, youve got a skid machine.

my VP is manual, thats the only reason i bought it apart from the kick arse donk. havent dropped a burnout yet, its pissing down rain and a skid in the rain is almost like cheating.
 
Gonna supercharge it? www.capa.com.au has great holden superchargers, they managed to get more than 370kW out of a genIII using just a supercharger.
 
theres a certain amount of power you can use in a car. having 370kW is fine...can you use that round town? no. for me i think 300hp is the limit for town use.
 
People, I have been away for a couple of days, but here is how it is gonna be. If ANYONE besides us Ozzi's post crap in this thread, we will all just up and leave. i got football meatpies and holden from a old Kingswood commerical, it was on the 50 years of Holden tape that i have
