I'm sorry, but to be honest I suggest finding another car to use. The Zonda is quite underpowered and overweight to be competitive in that cup.

Too true. You want to use a good Group C / LMP car like the Toyota Minolta or the Audi R8 to win. As far as I know, you'd have to be Michael Shumacher or God to win with the Zonda LM in the GTWC.

I do NOT wish to contradict Greycap nor Duck7892 since I have NOT yet tried that series in the Zonda...but unless it's a COMPLETE "POS" there should be NO Problems. I've bested the GTWC TWICE w/different JGTC Rides. IMHO Good Pit Strategy & carefull driving is all that's required. 👍 ...O.G. :D

OrgasmicSS
I don't know if my tune would bring the zonda race car to victory in that cup, but I do have a tune for it.

I've run a 1:04:xxx @ Midfield (were I do all my testing) w/ the oil change and R3 tires all the way around.

Well, since laps in the 55-to-57-second range are pretty good at Midfield for Le Mans cars with R3/R2 tires, I'd say a car that can only manage a 1:04 would be kind of marginal in the GTWC.

However, as OG said, that series has been won with cars that would seem to be badly outclassed, so who knows...

Report Bad Post

True, but like I said. Stock HP, besides oil change. I've got a GT-One that can go around midfield in 54-55 seconds... but its pumpin' out 1100+ HP.

My SINCERE APOLOGIES to both Greycap & Duck7892! :O

I had NO Idea that the Zonda was even WORSE than it was in GT3! :irked: I mean, it's STILL got "Rice Pudding" for Brakes but PD has seen fit to cut the DownForce in HALF as well! As I said, I'd never driven mine so I bought some R-2s & the BIG Turbo, added the "Cage" & an Oil Change. Since most everyone has a difficult time with the Hong Kong race I thought I'd give that venue a shot. Ran a few Laps in free run to tweak the chassis (Very Minor!) & the trans.

First attempt I notice the A-Spec points were HIGHER than those attained w/my JGTC Ride (Which has 100 LESS HP!!!) so I knew it wasn't going to be easy. Started from Last & got MURDERED! Worked my way up to a solid third, "Spun" once but even a flawless (for ME) run wouldn't have won it. I did notice however that minus the spin I kept pace w/the Minolta Toyota untill Lap #14. At that point he started to "Fade" a bit as I made up 8 seconds before the end! 👍 Margin Of LOSS...12.571 Seconds. :guilty:

Entered the "Series" & exited the first two races immediately. Tweaked 'er again just a very little & qualified FIRST by nearly 3 Seconds...BUT I know how the GT4 "AI" loves to "Sandbag" so I wasn't overly confident. Figured if I could just keep the Toyota in sight until Lap #14 "Maybe" I could get around him. Surprise, Surprise...the Green Flag drops & I "Smoke 'Em" for about 3 Laps! 👍 Just steadily pull away (But knowing the "AI" doesn't do well on BLUE Tyres of course.) About Lap #4 or 5 the margin quits growing & begins to shrink a bit. A late braking mistake on Lap #9 caused my mirror to be filled with Blue & White Race Car :scared: just as I ducked into the Pits.
I dropped to 4th but expected to get the lead back when the leaders pitted. Another Surprise...BUT NOT a pleasant one as the Big Toyota exited the Pits right in front of me as I started Lap #11! My tyres were one Lap "Warmer" than his so I was able to stay right on his tail & when he went too deep two turns before the Start/Finish line I got by on the inside! Very slowly opened a gap until Lap #14 when sure enough he "Faded" again. Margin Of Victory 7.218 Seconds :) BUT...Total Time well short of what I've seen at Hong Kong with a JGTC Ride! :irked: Personally I'll take LESS HP & MORE DownForce Any Day!

I have NO Idea if the Zonda is capable of winning the rest of the Series...Guess I'll have to save that challenge for a rainy day. :) ...O.G. :D

If you win the GTWC with the Zonda, I'll edit my post and compare you with Michael Schumacher. :dopey:

 That's a bit much Duck7892! but THANX none the less! I'm just an average driver who prefers the challenge of longer races. Believe me...there are PLENTY of drivers here at the Planet who could best this series in the Zonda if they cared to. 👍 ...O.G. :D

Well, I might have been a little crude about your car choice. Just make sure there isn't a Chaparral 2J in the race. There's nothing you can do against it in Hong Kong or Paris if it can overtake you. If you can keep it behind you there might be some hope left.
