Those 15th anniversary paints were truly... special.

Pink chrome!
Oh man, I kinda wish I had that pink chrome, just for the heck of it... Didn't get the AE though, is there any seasonal that has given it to anyone so far?

The AE purple chrome looks sweet on my Firebird!!! It made the bird on the bonnet white.. I love it! I do wish we didn't have to deal with this paint chip madness, I have to be so careful not to waste paint & then if I want a color I have to grind a race or two to buy the car to get the chip

youre not wasting it, once you got a paint chip you can use it over and over againt without losing it like in gt5!

I think the paint acquisition in GT6 is stupid. There are car colors that you have to purchase in order to get that paint and god forbid it have a secondary color you get nothing. PD why even use such a stupid system if many cars come with stripes and two tone paint jobs? Lose that useless paint chip idea, it's garbage this isn't pokemon. I want a real color system that allows you to actually change he interior colors to at least manufacturer colors as you automatically get with certain exterior paint choices. PD just put the all the paints in the paint shop, list them by manufacturer. Fix the paint shop, it's impossible to use multiple paints on a single car(why is this still so?), it's nigh on impossible to mimic paint schemes that come standard on some rims, you try to paint it and it paints the whole rim(aggravating). I don't understand why PD adds things to the game with parameters but when you attempt to paint the parameters magically disappear without letting you know. At least stripes on certain cars remain and switch colors to remain visible. It's just odd that we have no control over whether to keep stripes or remove them at our wish and can't paint cars in more than one color using select amounts, I'd kill to just do a two tone paint job in any fashion I choose. Just add some tools to the paint shop PD and let us do the rest. Also we need a base model livery that we can add to cars that have no livery like the SLS GT3 or apply to any car we would like to use it on. Got to love it when they gloss over things and assume we wouldn't need them.

Listing paints by manufacturer and letting us have control over what color the interior and wheels of a car is independent of it's exterior color is something I've wanted PD to do forever! It'd be a nice change to the game.

Now the really different thing is that once you get a paint, you can use it as many times as you want and that's very cool

One thing I have noticed is that paint items still don't stack properly (the same colours are listed twice in the lists). I've also noticed some paints can be very different despite purportedly being the same - compare Bay Side Blue (M) from the premium R34 GT-R to the same colour on the premium Mine's R34. The Mine's version is relatively dark, and can appear almost black in some lighting conditions, whereas the normal GT-R's is a much lighter shade of blue. I suspect the two problems are related - these variations of the same colours lead them to be stacked separately because they are, in effect, different colours.

you're kidding, I had no idea!!! Cool!! Thank you for the info! Now all of my cars will be purple chrome!! just kidding :sly: Now I'm excited to get home and boot up GT6 and start painting away.. sweet!

There can be paints with the same name, but from different manufacturers, and therefore they can look different. Especially simple names called "White" "Red" "Blue"...

Yeah, but that makes sense (because they are supposed to be different colours). What doesn't make sense is when two colours which should be the same, from the same manufacturer (in my example, the colours of the Mine's Skyline are all Nissan paint colours) are actually quite different and treated as such (unless this is supposed to represent different batches or production runs of Bay Side Blue paint that looked different or something).

Well, then that could be considered another game glitch or thing to fix :sly:

Just adding a proper "R G B" slider to make our own colors with a finish selector sure would solve a lot of people's color issues.

Please forgive my silly question here: does the paint chips work like in GT5 where you can only use your paint once unless you have multiple chips of that color or did PD make it that once you acquire a color you can use it as many time as you want as long as you pay for it every time? I didn't test it out yet.

Can you? I bought an MP4-12C and that never gave me the paint item.
No, I said the Mclaren F1. You can win it after getting half of the super license stars.
Choose the colour you want, an put it on the MP4-12C :)

Is there any way of knowing if a car will give you it's paint chip when you buy it, there are some cars that are worth buying for the paint chip alone lambo revention, merc vision GT etc but it's an expensive mistake if you don't get the chip. Also annoying I bought the Shelby mustang with no stripes to paint green ala Steve McQueen (bought a mercury cougar for the chip too) as soon as you paint it the stripes reappear

If the color has a name, is only one color (so no racing-stripes or two-tone or whatever), it should give a chip.
Can someone confirm this?

That's not entirely correct. For instance, I can personally confirm that in GT6, the McLaren MP4-12C has single colours with names and does not provide paint chips, and the two-tone Range Rover Evoque and Chevrolet Nova do give chips.

However, it is true that if a colour does not have a name (as on any RUF model, for instance), you will not get a chip.

Hi guys! I'm looking for the silver chrome paint for the GT5 since more than one year. I have the gold chrome it anyone is interested. Can someone trade one please? I can return 3 more if you only have one copy of the paint.
Thanks in advance.

Yeah, I'm sorry. But all people are playing gt6 and the gt5 forum is dead for this things. I tried here because all people that have gt6 also have gt5 and maybe they can help me.

I have gt6, but no gt5. The fact that all those people are in this forum means they are busy playing gt6 not gt5.

I think there's a pink chrome to be won from one of the current seasonal TTs

Personally I really like the Black Chrome, though in certain conditions it appears as some sort of very deep matte dark blue which also looks nice. As for the brightest yellow, in GT5 I found Brilliantgelb to be the brightest, I forgot which car yields it but it's probably an Opel or another german manufacturer.

Yep, it's from the Lancia Delta challenge.
Thanks.

With 'gelb' in the name, it must be - I do remember a very bright Opel roadster in GT5 alright.

Yep, Opel Speedster Turbo ´00 has Brilliantgelb you can also take the Brilliant Yellow from the Vauxhall VX220 Turbo ´00

Yeah, I decided to tackle the seasonals this weekend. I was very pleasantly surprised at seeing the reward from the Delta challenge (the easiest challenge at that imo...)
In case this wasn't mentioned yet: Hudson seasonal gives a matte yellow and Honda 2000 seasonal yields a matte blue

I'm pretty happy with this new system, far better than the random allocation of the daily bonus chips that saw me with a massive collection of predominantly silvers, whites and blacks - not to mention multiple duplicates scattered throughout my 2,300+ collection. I also only ever got one gold chrome, whilst others appeared to get a few during the three years of GT5.

This system is also far easier to select a colour and showing the car painted makes decisions far less of a gamble 👍
