Does anyone else dislike it? It seems like the concept of paint tickets just complicates something that should theoretically be really easy. Rather than letting me pick what color I want to change my car to, I have to hope that I've got a ticket that's close to the color I'm looking for.
 
i don't dislike the unlocking a color concept i dislike u can only use it once
 
You can only use a color once??? K that does suck.
 
You can only use each "ticket" once. If you get more tickets then you can use it again.
 
Well put it this way, it aint just red blue green or orange is it? You get REAL MANUFACTURE colours that you can stick on your car, and believe it or not that makes a huge difference on the colour. So Crystal white or winning blue, you can blatantly tell they ain't normal plain colours and I like them : ) As I learned yesterday companies go through extreme lengths to get the colours they want for their cars.
 
It's a pretty stupid design decision, but I won't let it bother me too much.
 
Shenfrey is a Mazda fan, haha. I know they are very specific about the shades, but I was hoping when we obtained one, it stayed on a library to use whenever we wanted, as much as we wanted.

I won't let it bug me too much either, as I doubt I'll be painting alot of cars.
 
What they should do is allow you to unlock color tickets for you to buy. Let's say you unlock one color, you use it then it's gone and you got the ability to buy the color back for credits. That would solve all the problems I have with the current system.

Right now if you want a specific color you have to buy the car for said color, it's quite expensive. I'd rather buy them back for 1,500cr or something similar.
 
It's the same for the horn system right? It kind of sucks, I unlocked a horn and clicked on it thinking I could hear what it sounded like but it just disappeared.

It's a poor attempt to make the game last longer 👎 . I know I won't grind and buy the same car over and over just to get the same paint item again.
 
Yeah it isn't very logical. But a minor annoyance.
 
If there is a point to the way this paint shop system is setup, I am missing it by about 1000%. Like the car delivery system, I just don't see an ounce of merit. I just can't believe they spent the time & manpower on some of this stuff. 👎

If you go into your items list and then press triangle over the horn, it does give you the option to listen to it (as well as your current horn).
 
I think the "this message will self destruct" style notes with paint reference numbers are quite funny, stupid, but still funny :D

I'm picturing myself going to the paint shop to order colour. Just when I've placed my order, my note catches fire and as the reference number is quite long, I can't make the order again, bummer... :D

Gran Turismo 5, The Real Taxi Simulator - you can modify your horn but not your brakes :D
 
I definitely think the way forward with paint is that it's locked, until you use it once, then you can use it anytime after that with no additional costs (bar the standard cost anyway).

Horns are neither here nor there, I'm still not sure how to unlock them and I doubt I'll change it anyway.

Museum cars seem to be acquired for just logging in every day.

Yup. Maybe PD itself is not very confident in the longevity of their product? This system is something for pokemon kids.

For myself the delivery system allows me to keep my garage clutter free. If I buy a car I'll buy every upgrade for it, if I keep getting cars dumped in my garage I lose track of what cars have been upgraded, so I use it as a holding area.

As for the paint items, I'm not that bothered about having a Ford in a Renault colour etc. So the only point of them to me is to get the "collect 256 colours" trophy.
 
Honestly cannot see the logic behind this.
I was a bit dissapointed with the lack of a vinyl editor (like Forza) and then discovered this paint ticket thing which basically means you can't paint your cars as you like. Did they really mean this?
 
I got a paint ticket that gives me colors other than the stock manufacturer colors. Now I can't paint my rims silver because all I see are yellow and blue variance. =|

Also, when you buy new rims, you have to go back and re-buy your old ones if you want those back. Who the hell came up with this?

Damn right :tup:how annoying is it to have to go through all the faf just to take a car from a truck and put it in you're garage.

Odd. I purchased a Mini Cooper S '07 in Pure Silver Metallic. It said I could paint a car this color in GT Auto. I then purchased a Viper SRT10 Coupe '06 in Viper GTS Blue w/ White Stripes. It didn't say anything. Whats up? I'm dying to get that color for my GTS. Can it be won?

I'm not sure about this either, but I have been experiencing the same. Seems some cars come with the paint ticket thingie, some don't.
 
is there any way to buy just paint tickets so you dont have to but the whole car for the paint job.
 
So far I have noticed that some paints cannot be applied to certain cars. Not sure how this is decided yet but would explain not seeing the paint ticket when trying to paint the Viper GTS someone mentioned above.

I think it is a pain for myself wanting to paint most of my cars my favourite colour means I have to either maybe win?/buy the same car over to get multiple tickets, but I then thought how about a 'paint trading thread' just like the car trading one?

I just got the FT86 in Light Blue Metallic but no paint item with it :grumpy:

No, the ticket stay in your Item list until you delete/use/gift it.
 
I must agree, the paint thing is downright sorry.
