Ah, the best sport in the world. I played for about 3 years and loved it. If you want to get better, practice your snap shooting and work on the communication on your team (really important in speedball). If your looking to get a new barrel, I would suggest a Freak System. It allows you to get a near perfect paint to barrel match, which is the biggest factor in accuracy.

What position do you guys play on your teams and do you have any sponsors? When me and my friends played I usually played back. All I did was lay down paint none stop and kind of lead the team. It sucks that I don't play anymore, damn sport costs too much.

My setup was a 2k1 WGP RF Autococker, 12v X-board Revy, WGP Hinge trigger, ANS Quickpull bolt, CP Barrel, Vigilante reg, and a 68/3000 Me'Lee tank. I'll try to find some pics of it.

www.pbnation.com has the best forums for the sport.
www.warpig.com has some nice information.

Edit: I could only find pics of when I first got the gun.

These are the markers I'm now using.
I just closed a deal on a Dye marker with Angel modifications, Compressed air tank, Freak barrel, 12volt hopper and all for 300 bucks. It's a 2002 marker and should improve my marksmanship quite nicely.
Here is where I play and here is the site for Swat Paintball.

I personally play the front or middle and love the position. Matter of fact, most of us that play do the front as we are very aggressive in our play.
We don't have a team as of yet, costs of play and going to tournies is quite expensive. We may get a 3 man team together to play some local tournaments but not this year.
Team Viscious from the warped sportz is at the Orlando finals and should win in their division. They are local to us and run the fields in the links above.
Most of us are using Spyders of some sort but are upgrading as we get closer to tournament type of play.
Thanks for the links, they are good and am a member of one of the forums listed. Matter of fact, I'm a member of about 4 different paintball forums including the PBstar forums, Kingman and the Paintball Planet forums.
OtterScCustoms is one of the best resources for the paintball enthusiast too.
Oh, nice marker and mine should be similar when gotten. I'll have to buy the dual trigger setup for the marker and add a couple of inserts to the Freak barrell I'm getting too.
Thanks for the post and you're never too late to get back into one of the hottest sports around.
:D :D

at over 1000 dollars this gun should be awsome! anyone ever used it?

I'll post pics when I get it (should be this wednesday) and I'm gonna use it at the paintball field this saturday :)

OMG, you have one of the best markers in the world. Bob Long rocks and so does his Timmy.
A very nice gun and take care of it, don't use co2 on it and invest in an hpa tank. (Air tank)
Good luck with it.

Btw, here is an update on my Team progress.
We are now Team Melee and are a three man team.
Here is an update on my markers.

I have been once, and me and my mates would love to go again. But as we are all 13/14 we aren't bringing in much money, there are only so many paper rounds. In south Wales it is 15 pound(sterling) for half a day, and 6 pound (sterling) for one hundred extra paintballs. So you are looking at a 40 pound each. Whats it like in other places?

Unfortunately, we don't do pounds here in America but in dollars. ;)
Most places charge about 10 bucks (dollars) per person to play, 50 dollars for paintballs (case price=2000 rounds) and usually 5 dollars for air for all day.
Here is where we play at for the occasional recball play.
Paintball is an expensive sport and if it were not for me, my team would'nt be playing either. Heh, guess you could say that I'm sponsoring the ones playing. :odd:
I don't mind, it's alot of fun and keeps me young.
Exige, go again and get addicted, it's quite easy to do so and is the most fun I've had in a long time. You should do it more often man. :D :D

Dang, I thought the game was world wide and that the prices would be similar. Probably import tariffs to the countries that all of the product is going to.
Expensive or not, not everyone can play it. Mostly because of the costs to enter tournaments, field fees and just buying the equipment means you better have a job and do like me, sacrifice most of your paycheck to play.
Heh, it even means forgetting about modifying your project car to be faster for the fun of paintball. Lol, that's me, for now. :D
Paintball will be in the Olympics one day and I see the day that it will be accepted as much as Soccer or Foosball as the Europeans call it.
Play when you can-

It does cost that much if you buy at the field. they always rip you off. If you go to a paintball shop, you can likely get a good deal.

Anyway, I play occasionally. Once I find a job, I'll get myself a marker and gear. Unfortunately, the only marker I've found that fits my style is 800 bucks. It's really cool, though. It's an M-16 style gun, loaded from 20rd box mags, which is a benefit for me, because I hate the hopper, especially because it blocks a good scope. I prefer to play a sharpshooter role.

I've found, by the way, that a vintage Soviet trenchcoat is a great paintball uniform. It provides good camo in woodland situations (one guy told me he hesitated to shoot me because he thought I was a rock), and the thick material dampens even the hardest impacts.

However, the games I like to play are a little different from what's popular. I hate speedball. I like Scenario based games, and just general military style combat. I prefer Airsoft for that reason. I often make the analogy, paintball :: Quake, Airsoft :: Rainbow Six. I'll take rainbow six over any "action shooter".

Yeah, there are two types of paintball players, the woods/ scenario style or the tournament type player.
Most fall into these groups and I love both.
Right now, the tourney style is my life as we have a team but do play the occasional woods play.
There is nothing like going through the woods, heart pounding and wondering where the enemy is going to be.
Nice to see different ppl playing different types of games. ;)

I hope he got a motorized hopper, because you're probaly gonna be out shooting a normal hopper. I wouldnt suggest running of co2 all the time, because all the dirt and crap in it can mess up your o-rings and is bad for your solenoid, but once or twice shouldn't be a problem. If you can get ahold of an HPA tank it's much more consistent and cleaner.

Yup, you will need a motorized hoper.
The 12 volt Revvy is good and made by Viewloader, the Egg or Halo is good also.
Cost, about 60 to 150 dollars for a good motorized hopper.
I would still not recommend using co2 through the Timmy (Intimidator). No one in their right mind would.
Sell the Victor if you have to, just to get the things you need to shoot the Timmy like it is supposed to be shot, FAST.
Good luck with your new Bob Long Timmy man and if you do sell it, sell it for at least a grand, nothing less..

Wow this got brought back from the dead. Anyways me and some buddies of mine has been playin in the snow, its a lot of fun. But I broke my rib last weekend when I got shot by a frozen paintball. Oh well still had fun. Can't wait til spring so the team can get back together

Lol, yeha, back from the dead for sure. :p
Dang, that must've been a lot of fun, with the exception of the broke rib. :irked:
That is what I would call a diehard love for the game. :D
That's why I play it myself. :trouble:
Btw Blazin, sounds like you got a pretty nice truck.

hey... i was surprised to find a paintball thread on here... ive been playing for about 2 years now. do all you guys play in tournys? or just for fun?... i got an 2k3 autococker with a drop, an aftermarket bolt, and a smart parts all american barrel for it... its really accurate, anyone know of any paintball fields in Georgia? moving there this summer..what kinds of guns do u all use?

You can pretty much see what I'm using in the earlier posts.
'02 Autococker with a Sidewinder reg, Warped Sports flame drop, on/ off asa, new Shocktech front pnewmatics (pending installation), Feak barrel system, 12 volt Revvy and many more mods to go.
Our Team (Team Melee) has just formed and will be doing some tournaments this year for the first time.
I've been playing for over 4 years and our team has (collectively) 10 years of playing paintball.
Got a picture of your AutoCocker??

Is HPA nitrogen? or just compressed air? What is the cost (of refills) compared to CO2 also would I be able to buy my own refill kit? and does it last longer than CO2? I think he already has a motorized hopper but I'll see when i get it, as I said hes not a PB guy so he just said hes gonna thorw all his gear in a bag and give it to me, I expect that since they paid 1,000+ for the gun they didn't get too stingy on the hopper and tank. after all it's not like they can't afford it :) his dad just bought a $300,000 maybach and has a GTR :) I cant wait to go drive em :D I like this kid! yeah the victor is as good as gone :) BTW, if you want cheap paintballs go to wallmart and get a 1,000 box and tell them some other shop has it for 10 bucks cheaper, if they want to call for a price check give them your freinds cell phone # and have him answer as "so and so's paintball shop" then have him pause like hes looking at prices then have him verify your price, works like a charm :)

Is HPA nitrogen?
No, just high pressure air. Some use nitrogen but most paintball places never have it.

Filling your hpa bottle is as cheap as your co2 refills. You'll have less playtime with air in comparison to the co2. Air is cleaner so go with it.
On refilling your own, do like I just did.
Go to a dive shop and get a used 68cuft air tank, buy a fill station off of e-bay and have your own fill station. Cost of the bottle, 65 bucks or so. Cost of the fill station off of e-bay, 39.95 to 60 bucks, depending on your bid.
Cost of filling the scuba bottle, 2 bucks.
How many refills can you effective get, about 10-15.
Filling your own bottles and playing longer-priceless.
On buying the paintballs, if there is an Academy Sports outlet near you, they sell a case (2000 rounds) for only 29.95 dollars. It's good paint and made by Zap, an industry7 leader in paintballs.
If you need any info on the fill station, pm me and I can give you all the details.

how many PSI is that air at? whats stopping me from just using a heavy duty air compressor?

here's one of the practive sessions that we used to use.

Set up a barricade in your back yard. Nothing elaborate, just something that blocks your view of the yard. put a bunch of card board boxes out there. Get into a shooting position behind your barricade. Lean out real quickly, and tag one of the targets with two shots. This works on your snap shooting. the ability to lean out take a shot, and back in without exposing yourself for to long.

We've also done that as two barricades, that you sprint from one to the other, shooting two shots while moving. This works on your ability to move from bunker to bunker up the field, while pinning opponents.

Good luck in the tournament, and tell us how it turns out.

Lol sounds alot like awping in CS to me, I've never been paintballing but Ive played this thing with lasers (not the bs one u buy from K-Mart) on this Cadet thing i went to, its just a like an MP5 but instead of a magazine and firing thing theres a laser thing (not visible like infra-red or whatever) and u have 6to hit them either in the chest, back or head, no BS leg shots, also u can fire thorugh grass and that cos its not a visible light thing. its good fun, paintball without the pain

I've played that type of thing. Alot cheaper, but alot more annoying. You and a mate might take a stronghold, and when the other team attack they just walk straight up to you as the beams don't hurt them and stand there waiting for themselves to reactivate once you shoot them.
Thats why I prefer paintballing, because no one can BS you by walking all the way up to you while you blast them.
