First of all, what times does everyone think we should be doing this? :12 :24 :36 would probably work out best because the races are way too short, but before I put it in the thread title, I thought I'd ask what everyone else thinks too.

Everyone have fun and remember to follow the standard GTP_OLR rules! 👍

I'm guessing there might be some contact in this one given the limited overtaking places!

Hate to put a dampner on your event but just bear in mind that the Online Event Schedule is due to change tonight.

Given that we only have a few hours I would love to get involved.

👍

This actually is one of the new events. ;)

lol, it has already changed for us

Just call me a mong. :dunce:

I was on earlier and my events had not changed, it now appears they have.

Thanks PD, you made me look stupid then. :dunce:

so is the majority going to be racing this event? it looks like it will be quite a fun one! 👍

It won't be much fun for punters as there are no massive gravel traps to put you in.

So it may turn out to be a successful event.

Well punters have still got me good a few times already, I have been pushed into the walls which made my car stop dead, still fun race though but too short.

What car seems to be best so far? I did it a few times with the Integra, I think 1.13s was avg time.

The punters are still having fun here, actually. The best way past them is when they're trying to punt someone else off. :p I'm a bit annoyed that this is only a 5 lap event. If you start at the back, by the time you get past a few slower guys the race is over.

I've been driving the Focus and enjoying it. Running high 1'11s.

I have just been using the Focus, hit consistant 1'11.2-3 and last lap 1'10.8

Stll plenty to come off though.

I bet money that the Mazda 6 will be very good here thanks to its longer wheelbase meaning more traction in the twisties. I'll get a tune out for it on the weekend.

One that the 147 probably won't be good in. It's too rigid and will have problems with the track layout, and not enough low end torque I think.

I better get to work on the Golf too.

I doubt it, the longer wheelbase will probably hamper rotation in the tight parts, traction so far I am not having trouble with traction.

6 minutes flat!

is that fast? ive never raced on this track before its fun riding through the dips and ruts

6 flat is fast, I got a 6 flat one race but I made a few errors through out, and most laps were low 1'11's, only one 1'10.

The Mazda 6 isn't that long.;) We almost did a class exactly like this for a proposed Tougue Showdown for the tuners a while back, the Mazda 6 was extremely competent. Although we did limit them to S3 tyres..... The longer wheelbase is more likely to hurt a FWD car at higher speeds, at low speeds it aids in rotation because the front wheels literally pull the nose around corners, and the more traction you have the better it pulls it around. Buit if people are using race tyres/tyre staggering then it will essentially have lost its advantage.

Rotation I mean entering corner, getting sufficient yaw angle.

This is a PUNT show already, good fun though, love the course.

When we are all competitive bet it will feel more like Touge Battle from best motoring when you can't overtake cleanly :)

First time I saw a 12 position grid on Eiger.

You can fix this with brake balance and other settings.

Intested to see how fast it will be then if you are so confident.

Nice race TIZZLAAA, first time I saw a 12 position grid on Eiger.

I don't tyre stagger, but as long as the low end torque is good I see no problems arising. It was actually quite good at Fuji too.

I had a go earlier in the integra and got smashed. I was using default tune. I think the best lap I did was 1'13.2xx.

I managed to get a 1'11.2** in my last race, I'm very happy with that considering I've been doing mid-high 1'11s in my previous races. I'm done for tonight, anyway. Hopefully I can get some good races with more GTPers tomorrow!
