Am i the only one noticing GT4 doesnt run as well as GT3, maybe its my eyes or the way the cars in GT4 behave, but to me it looks like there are major slowdowns in fps when cornering.
Especially at Tokyo R246 it runs slower, in GT3 i was very impressed with this course and how fluid everything was when going highspeed, but maybe i just need to get used to the new graphics.

Are you sure it's not the car slowing down? I thought the same thing playing the U.S. version, but then I realized that with the driving aids on it really slows the car down in the corners. The amount the cars slows in corners is a lot more noticable than in GT3 in my opinion.

I've experienced no slow down. I heard that the game is locked at 60fps.

I have noticed from time to time that the screen flutters a bit (usually beginning a race) in the NA GT4 I have.

(My first post - what you guys think?)

@ wofl and M_Grip:

thats jittering.. that has nothing to do with FPS.. yall just keep rummoring its about FPS but its about interlacing which is a completely different process

There is jittering in the PAL-version, but very unnoticable. It's not in the races, though. I only get them on the screen where you finish a licence in certain rally ones (not all of them), where those three people are clapping their hands for you. Otherwise not jittering in my game. :)

There is no 1250i mode in the PAL version. There isn't even an NTSC option which would have provided 1080i or at least 480p. You are stuck with 576i sorry.

Even though we have the best version?

Still no HD or progressive scan which is a big deal when you want to drive with a wheel and you can't double up your PC monitor and desk and you get eye strain from the flickering and too-bright display that TVs inherently produce since they are made for viewing from afar.

Ive seen it slow down many times now. Ususlly on replays when all cars are on screen and of course the jittery glitch.

I'm talking graphics wise from what I heard. Although I can't exactly back myself up.

Actually, it is the same thing. Most games don't show it because the slowdown is more severe, and results in entire frames being dropped. Most games also run at only 30fps, so the fields are identical anyway. Since GT4 is an interlaced game, the minor slowdown results in one field being skipped, rather than an entire frame. The result is a temporary field reversal, aka "jittering" or "shaking".

The best version is the one that does HDTV - and it's not PAL 👎

If you get the chance to compare the 2 versions on HDTV, you will agree. No flames, just my opinion.... disappointed PAL user.
