Which sound clip is the Panoz?

Okay - here, provided by the good ship daan, are a pair of soundclips. One of them is a Panoz Esperante GTR-1 accelerating from rest. The other is a Ford GT40 accelerating from rest.

But which one is which?

I know - daan knows - but I want to prove that the two cars are almost completely indistinguishable from each other - despite what some lying fiends around here might say.

Just vote for the one which you think is the Panoz.

shoot i didnt listen to the first one carefully... strike one from clip one and move it to clip two please...

First clip = GT40
Second clip = Panoz
 
I think the key is the lag time in first gear as the car gets up to speed. Famine is correct in that they are alomst indistinguishable from each other.

I'm going to side with Lump above. Clip 1 = Panoz, and Clip 2 = GT40

They sound practically the same...but the GT40 I'd say does shift faster in the second one (so I voted the first one) along with AO and lumpkin.
 
I am pretty sure (given my extensive experience with the GT40 at Seattle trying to get a gold on that stupid S-license test) that clip 1 is the GT40 and clip 2 is the Panoz. I could be wrong, but I doubt it.

How could we give you pictures of the cars? That'd be a bit of a giveaway would it not?

I'm not guessing as to which is which, 'cos I know! :trouble: :D

I'll reveal all in a couple of days. So I'll have to give the answer before then :D

And yes, there IS a part 2... :D
 
Actually, the orginal GT40 only had a 4 speed, in which 1st gear was good for like 90+ mph. if it was anything close to real life, (GT3, duh) the gt40 is the first one and the panoz is the second one (if their both stock.)
 
you can hear that the first clip is the gt40 because of its growlish raquet that it emits while still accelerating in first or second gear... that is distinctive of the gt40...

I'm going to have to say that clip 2 is the Panoz..
 
I'm gonna say second is Panoz because in the Panoz you can hear the tranny whistle, but the GT40 you can't.
 
So famine pm me if i am right or wrong please...
 
Clip 2, they sound similar but the Panoz has that slightly louder whistle in the background.
 
Heh...I thought they did sound similar (Panoz and GT40) but never this similar Famine...Can't wait for part 2 and the revealing of part 1. :)
