You ever heard this band? They are the rock! Their music is heavy-thrash metal. Songs like Cowboys From Hell, I'm Broken, and Cemetary Gates are pretty excellent examples. The best albums from Pantera would be Vulgar Display Of Power and Cowboys From Hell

This band formed in the early 90's.

Until you see them in concert, they are awesome, once you see them in concert. . . They are metal gods : )

some more good songs
Primal Concrete Sledge
Suicide note pt 1 and 2
Hollow
F ing Hostile
This Love

I saw White Zombie in concert..... ( which I sleep through), followed by Pantera! They were awesome! Clean black stage, no stupid muppet props, just good, hard, metal! It was a great show, as soon as White Zombie stopped their CD Player.

I saw that concert, what was that back in 1997? down in the Miami Arena. . .

Vulger Display is my favourite album. Great Southern Trend Kill had some good tracks too, but seemed like a bit of an experimentation album to me.

Pantera RULES!!!. Edited: They are one of my three favorite bands (My most favorite is Slayer)

Hey Dude!:D Those are the albums I have of Pantera.

I've been listening to Pantera more and more now than before.

I've started to like them more after watching a music video on Beavis and Butthead show. Its the last music video on the episode "The Pipe of Doom"

Phil Anselmo was better when he was with Pantera, he made the band Rule more than before.

The song I can't stop hearing is Primal Concrete Sledge

Rock On Dudes!!

Pantera would have to be one of my all-time favourite bands. In fact, I think they surpass Slayer in my all-time favourite Bands. They are just my style. Aggressive, hard, and they are all talented.

I have everything Pantera. I recently got all of their Pre-Fame stuff.

Phil Anselmo is an absolute moron now, though. Down were completely boring, and I think they're still making albums. SuperJoint Ritual are decent, but nothing at all spectacular. But hey, let's not get into our 300th discussion on SJR. Phil's had too many side-projects to begin with.

Vulgar Display of Power is by far their best album. I would say Cowboys From Hell, Far Beyond Driven and Great Southern Trendkill are all equal in my mind for second. I do agree with Mike that the latter was more of an experimental album. I think Phil wanted to push the band into Death. I also think that album caused a lot of disagreements with the band that eventually led to their break-up. Reinventing the Steel was far from enjoyable. I think that album the Paul Brothers probably pushed back against Phil and got into their kind of style. Phil's a control freak, so that's most likely what caused him to leave.

Best song: Mouth For War.

I have Vulgar Display of Power, and I'd say Mouth For War and This Love are my favorites.

For me, the best album is Cowboys From Hell.

My favorite Pantera song: Primal Concrete Sledge

Yeah, I've seen those pictures and more. They were hilarious back in the 80's. Have you heard the music from then, too? Now that's downright un-Pantera!

God speed Darrell Abbott, you made Texas & the rest of the world proud.
