Probably deserves a thread considering how much this will affect movies, TV and gaming. Consolidation never a good thing.

HBO and HBO Max on the TV side. All the film IPs, including Harry Potter & DC. DC Comics. Mortal Kombat, Hogwarts Legacy, DC games, Lego games. The list goes on & on.

Netflix don't have a great track record of physical media, and I'm worried that they'll wind down WB's releases. Might be time to start hoarding.
 
It's rather grim to think about just how many IPs are going to go down the drain when this merger inevitably gets too bloated to sustain itself and falls over.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out in the long run, neither company was exactly doing great and now Paramount will have to deal with an even bigger mountain of debt (they already have the debt from Skydance as well as South Park). Won't be shocked if quite a few properties are sold off by the end of the decade.

At least the Monsterverse is only distributed by Warner so that shouldn't be affected by any stupidity that transpires.
 
I would much rather WB goes to Paramount than Netflix. I'd rather a Hollywood studio is owned by anoither Hollywood studio than a vampire corp like NF.

Also, Critical Drinker did a good piece on this...
