Are you kidding?
It's a black 225 FWD Audi TT.

Do any other Audi TT owners notice the complete lack of room in the rear?
Long journeys are gonna be torture.

Luckily, we are still keeping the 323F (Lantis) and the '87 Nissan Sunny.

Do you mean FWD, or 4WD? There IS a front-wheel drive version of the Audi TT, but it's only 160hp.

Never mind no room in the back, have you seen the boot? Pure comedy.

[silly question mode]
Apart from something you put between your shoe and your foot, what is a sock?

The sock is so abbriviated it's a suprize they even bothered with it.

Famine, isn't it 180hp?

There's 4 models:

160hp FWD 1.8 Turbo
180hp 4WD 1.8 Turbo
225hp 4WD 1.8 Turbo
250hp 4WD 3.2V6

*Edit - quite right!

Sorry, I skimmed whatever I was reading. 4WD is an option on the 180hp version, still possible to get a FWD 180.
And you forgot the TT Quattro Sport, 240hp 4WD 4cyl (which is 1.8, not 2.0).

1.8 turbo-4 w/ 180 hp (FWD/AWD)
1.8 turbo-4 w/ 225 hp (AWD only)
3.2 V6 w/ 250 hp (AWD only)

If I remember correctly (in the US anyway) :dopey: .

Speaking of which, I'm taking home a turbocharged car myself tomorrow. This car has a lot more rear-seat room, trunk space, and horsepower than an Audi TT. :sly:

Congrats on the new car! :)

My turn tomorrow... :sly:

Mmmm.....1.8T. I really like that little motor.

But yup Mrkt you would be right on the TT power numbers well the 1.8T anyways. I don't know anything about the 3.2 they put it Audis.

However depending on the year 225 horsepower is a believable number, just in AWD version. My mom's friend had a 2002 TT FrontTrak with the 1.8T but that only put out 180hp.

I'm not sure how much tonage the TT has but a 1.8T should move that thing along pretty good.

and Brian could the turbo car possibly be a *cough*Volvo*end cough*

Thats going to be one fast grocery getter .

Damn sorry for slaughtering your name...its time to go to bed.

 Exactly. And it's the ultimate sleeper car too. :)

I'm not sure I see what you're talking about... :sly: [it's OK, it happens all the time  ]

Good night.

*Sorry for hijacking the thread* How do you like the TT, Danny? :guilty:

Is the 225-horsepower TT a twin turbo?

I don't see how they could squeeze any more power out of the 1.8-liter motor with just one turbo. Anyone know?

By the way, the correct US lineup was posted by MrktMkr:
- 180hp 1.8L 4-cyl turbo = front- or all-wheel drive
- 225hp 1.8L 4-cyl turbo = all-wheel drive
- 250hp 3.2L V6 = all-wheel drive

They could use a real turbo, for starters, and not the little toy one they've been using on 1.8l motors ever since it came out. Why, or rather where, would you put 2 turbos on a 4 cylinder engine, anyway?

"...powered by the familiar 1.8-litre 5-valve turbocharged in-line 4, but power is dramatically raised to 225 hp by applying a maximum of 2 bar boost pressure from the new KKK K04 big turbo (still single turbo) and a pair of intercoolers. Surprisingly, Audi's engineers managed to achieve a broad torque curve from such a high boost engine - peak torque 206 lbft appears between 2200 and 5500 rpm !"
-AutoZine (my emphasis)
Boost is increased furthur for the 240hp Quattro Sport. Do we get that in North America?

I'm out of date. It seems that the FWD one is now 180hp to match the entry level 4WD one.

When they were introduced to the UK, you could only get a 180hp or 225hp 4WD. They then introduced a 160hp FWD - but it was significantly lighter, so as quick as the 180hp 4WD version - and, most recently, the 250hp V6.

The 1.8T in the TT is pretty different from the one in the A3/Golf, I think it has a different bottom end and some other gubbins.

My parents had a 180bhp Quattro one and now they have a 225 Quattro, although it's a 51reg car. Both silver ones. The 180 one constantly broke and the interior quality was pretty crappy, although I think it was a fairly early model a 99 or 98. The 225 is allot nicer and hasn't had so many problems, although the interior still likes to randomly fall to bits.

Bah it's not what I would have bought for the money anyway, I tried to convince my parents that a used R33 GT-R would be better but they were all like 'but it's a nissan  ' I hate when people buy things on name alone.

Oh yeah and if you like hitting your head against the roof/rear windscreen/rubber sealant thing between the two you'll love sitting in the back of this car. It's horrible and i'm only 5'11.

What the hell happened to the roadster/convertable then why is it so underpowered? why wouldn't it not have 180bhp instead it has a measly 150bhp

heres an ad i seen;

That is the "sportkombi" version.

Engines:
1.8: all the previous versions
3.2 V6 with DSG gearbox
2.0 TDI diesel with 160 BHP
and the top version: a 350 BHP version. It is (I believe a 3.2 V6 turbo or twin turbo)

Drive:
FWD => Audi TT
AWD ==> Audi TT- S
AWD 350 BHP ==> Audi TT - RS

Its really just a fancy schmancy golf...even though its pretty damn cool looking with a beatiful interior, I just can't like it !

Apart from not being able to get in it, it seems nice enough...

Also, does anyone think the 4WD would be especially noticable with day to day driving?

My mum isn't a quick driver, bless 'er.

Eh, probably not, unless you're going fast enough or taking a turn sharp enough. In the winter i'm sure you'd notice though :)
