Anyone ever have this issue?

The green light on the back of the PS3 next to the ethernet plug-in is flashing really fast, like there is data going through it constantly. My friends list only partly shows up, and will not tell me who is online. When I first turn the system on, it says that I am signed in, but I cannot connect to any servers on GT5P.

I ran an internet connection test, and everything shows up successful, except for the UPnP. What is that?

UPnP does more than just streaming media (UPnP AV); it's used to open ports from your PS3 to the internet for online gaming. Without it, your PS3 will have difficulty hosting or connecting to games. You may even have trouble connecting to the PlayStation Network. Double-check the settings for your router. You want to enable UPnP if possible, as it removes the need to manually set up port forwarding.

I have no router. Internet connection comes straight out of the modem. It was fine last night. Unfortunately I have to share the internet connection with my computer, so to switch from either one I just unplug the connection from the computer and plug it into the playstation etc. I left the connection in the PS3 last night, then my mom switched it to the computer this afternoon, no I have the above problems.

Twice. I'm going to fiddle with it a little more tonight and see if I can fix it. If not....call Sony.

Your not alone. I turned my PS3 on this morning and all my friends were offline with no last active time below. And i cant get in a online race .

Exactly what I'm going through!

Called Sony. The lady on the line made sure my system was up to date, had me reset all settings then re-establish a connection. Then she had me call my internet provider to make sure all required "ports" were open.

Internet provider tells me they cannot supply that kind of information for the connection, only for email.

So I'm stuck. Don't know who's online, and cannot connect to game servers. :(

I'm going to call Sony back in a few minutes here and tell them they have an issue.

UPDATE:

Sony basically told me that, at the moment, they cannot do anything. He told me that they would look into the problem, and that I should try and connect at a later date. I'll keep trying through the weekend and if it is not fixed by Monday, I'm calling them again.

Obviously whatever is wrong, is their problem. No way it is my connection if other people are having the same issue. I think they have an issue with the latest update, that is slowly effecting certain consoles.

Called Sony. They still cannot help me. I did however pop DIRT into the system, and was successful in racing a couple online races.

SO

Somehow GT5:P Online does not want to work, and for some reason my friends list still is not showing their status or if they are online. When I try to connect to a race in GT, I get a "Cannot connect to Host, 60:29000000" message. Anyone know what that means?

UPDATE. Sony still could not help me. So, I backed up my saves and did a system reset which fixed the problem. Oy...
