Is it good? We didn't get too much, not even the promised "new course layouts." Just Spa 24h, swapping the pitlane, which isn't exactly a new course layout. Then yet another BRZ and a racing version, but the one completely new car being the Cappuccino.

Then, we get a couple new races, including a Spa endurance which pays out 1,000,000 (+ clean race bonus, so 1,5 mil)

But then the rest is just game fixes, better than nothing, but still. If they wish to be honest about the layouts, they only have a bit longer until April is done  and since we already got a an update coupled with a maintenance downtime, it won't happen and PD flatout lied.

I feel like boycotting. The hype was way bigger compared to what we got.

The game released 6 weeks ago. How much new content do expect to be developed in a month and a half?

The game would have been finished 4 weeks before release to allow for production and certification, so it's actually about 10 weeks since they stopped adding content to the base game.

Creating race events cannot take that long. They're drip feeding these events on purpose. They've probably decided that they'll be kind enough to let us have the Supercar and Gr1 events that Jimmy Fallon played at launch in June or July.

TBF I'd rather forego content updates if the actual issues with the game get resolved - case in point, the physics engine is SO much better after this update. That's worth more than a couple of cars to me at this point

The people who are tweaking the physics are not the same people modelling cars and adding them into the game though. They have enough people to do both.

I'd not expect any new content for a time after release... they'll be concentrating on bugs/balance/economy and ensuring the game is scaling and stable as they grow with adoption.

Once they're happy things have settled they'll turn to free and/or paid additional content.

Look at a game like Forza Horizon 5 -- released in November and every update since has been essentially bug fixing. There's been no new significant content (other than seasonal events which are simply packaging user generated events up anyway)

Priority will be ensuring game is ready for it's likely 3 year or more lifespan while they're still in post-release high support phase.

Difference there is FH5 already feels like a complete game at launch. GT7 doesn't. There are still no pre-made events for Gr.2 and Gr.1 cars.

I don't think it's unreasonable to have expected there to be a lot more content at release than there was. That, coupled with this big update that consists of a new pitlane layout, and three cars (one of which basically already exists in game in the form of the Toyota and another of which presumably had the foundations to be included in place due to being a premium model in GT6), doesn't come across terribly well personally. I'm grateful for the new content obviously but I think it's perfectly acceptable to remain disappointed with the state of the game as it stands.

Yep, seems like a very lack luster update, they probably chucked it together in a day or two. Who knows what they do the rest of the time.

The OP refers lack of new layouts and cars. On that perspective we shouldn't expect significant adds at this point, although Kaz promised new layouts until the end of the month. But it wasn't reasonable to expect numerous additions in terms of cars and tracks after a month and a half from release.

Content on the sense of more high grade races and championships, that was expected by the "open letter" from Kaz at the beginning of the month. After all, the just added three high paying races (now 4 with the 1h Spa race) and the endurance missions you can only get the prize once. That is lacking and was expected to be addressed.

Glad to see they are looking to solve some fundamental issues like the weight transfer excessive sensitivity, specially on rear wheel driving cars.
