ok, after a pro arcade race this morning against (amoung others) a jag xkr, i notice the jag was quite fast. I was so impressed that i decided to buy one as it looks quite nice too.

went to settings to remove unwanted tcs and asm and took her for a run. Is this car electric powered? there was barely and engine sounds!!! must be a glitch or something cause all i could hear was the wind in my ears!

what a letdown!
I didnt save so it no longer in my garage and wont be.... ever

over a engine sound. . . what a waste of english car space . . .

Sucks to hear the experience over the Jag. . . but I know I won't get one now :D but you might wanna try the racing exhaust or sports exhaust because it changes the sound. . . I also know that you already know that so why am I saying that. . . just hit me!

I never noticed the xkr much...i miht have a go with it because it looks very nice in red...but it should have a nice roar with its V8...unfortunate for the weak sound then.

/me hits miata13b...

nah i like to keep em stock for arcade racing :D

it really does sound like an electric motor! :(

you take that back now Mr!!!!!!

the fiat sounds and pulls like a friggin tractor! its sic moit!

:p

I dont like the sound of the Integra type-R, sounds like its gonna ****ing break or somethin, NSX is MUCH better.
and as Ving said "Itz fooly sic moit"

I say the Viper has a weak sounding engine. Theres no rev up, and it sounds like Rice Burner, only when you get it moving it sounds good.

The Vette has to have the meanest sounding engine.

Yeah I noticed two things about GT3; The cars are quieted down fo sho, and the Japanese cars are the only ones that sound accurate IMO.

I've been in Cobra Rs and Z06s plenty of times in my life time and I know the Z06 sounds much nicer than that, and what's with the Cobra R sounding as though it was supercharged? The 5.4 is more of a glug glug type of motor!

The XKR is getting that electric sound from the supercharger methinks, but even so, it is very quiet and don't change the exhaust it sounds gh3y with anything else... like rice or something.

Yet the GT-Rs, Supras, FD, etc. are relatively accurate when it comes to sound. The volume is even seemingly a bit higher on them!

speaking of the cobra r...i was just looking at the specs for it in gt3 and it says it has a 4.6L not a 5.4  i know in real life it has a 5.4 but in the game apparently it has a 4.6

Hell, I would take out the XKR and put the Silk Cut Jaguar XJR9! Now if that car was in GT3, I would drive that car all the damn time.

[EDIT]

Here, this is the car I mean.

This is definatly a car to want in GT4. But I think PD coulda easily used the base of the 787B and made this car. All they needed was the engine sound and then its perfect.

One of the worst cars in the game sound wise is the Z06. They'd better fix it for GT4.
None of the cars are even audible at idle.

Anyone remember the Cougar XR-7 from GT2? One of the best sounding cars in the game!

As a Thunderbird fan I'm obligated to be a Cougar fan!

I really don't remember the XR7 though... might have to play GT2 again!

Yeah the Z06 in GT3 sounds like crap, my friend's uncle got one (bought it by collecting and selling beer cans!!!) and that thing sounds so much more badazz! That raspy quad exhaust with nothing less than a 5.7L LS6 pushin the gasses through!

jaguars arent suppose to be noisy there are quite cars , say u got the fastest bentley, which is about probably the same bhp as the jag the bentley isnt loud now is it ;)?

Thats the same engine as the New Pontiac GTO (Its still a Monaro to me). Here in Australia there's a 400hp version of the Monaro called the GTS Coupe. Get beaten by an R34 GT-R V-Spec II Nur though... **Sure that N1 engine's only producing 280hp**

It's not EXACTLY the same engine, but it is very similar and is the same displacement. The GTO and Monaro use the LS1 like later V8 Camaros and other F-Bodies. LS1 is almost as good as LS6, but LS6 is reserved for t3h Vettes.

I'm not entirely suprised a Monaro got beat by a GT-R34. The horse power gap isn't that big, maybe 50-60hp at the wheels, and the Monaro is similar weight but RWD. I'd like the see whether a Monaro or GTO could beat a GT-R34 in autocross... something tells me it'd be close. :)

That kinda makes me mad that the GTO is using the same chassis as the Monaro, GTO is a car that deserves it's own chassis IMO, but I won't complain I suppose.

Most dissapointing car sound in the game imo is the RSX Type-S. Ne1 who has driven one or riden in one knos they sound completely different. Theres No VTEC interchange or anything...makes me cry........

You hear the VTEC with the Race exhaust... Is it me or are the RPM's a bit wee to high for VTEC on all cars? WRX sounds ok.. And I think GT3 has a SC'd Cobra. I thought the corvette sounded good. Turbo cars get annoying after a while because of the BOV. And all Honduhs sound alike. But the RSX,accord, nsx...

Cobra and Cobra R are two different cars. Cobra R is a rare item and it's not supercharged, it runs an NA 5.4L Triton V8. The game DOES seem to make it sound supercharged though...

Cobra wasn't supercharged either until '03, and the '04 Cobra is also supercharged. Supercharged 4.6L DOHC modular V8.

The Corvette does sound okay, but it's way too quiet like most other cars and isn't quite as raspy as the real deal.

Yeah I thought you could hear V-TEC on the RSX but I don't drive it that much...
