PC Version won't launch - Help

I bought the game on Steam on Saturday and since downloading and installing it, the game refuses to launch. It loads the small square dirt 3 logo and that becomes unresponsive, after that there are 1 or 2 flashes to black and then the dirt3 process disappears.

AMD Phenom Triple Core
4.00GB RAM
NVIDIA Geforce 9500GS


Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm absolutely desperate to play this game seeing as I've been trying non stop for 3 days.

Have you tried disabling your antivirus or apps running or finding the games exe within the Steam/Steamapps/Common/Dirt 3 folder and clicking on it or installing games for windows live?

Update the GPU drivers

Try Verifying Game Cache
1. Load Steam
2. From the Library section, right-click on the game and select Properties from the menu.
3. Select the Local files tab and click the Verify integrity of game cache... button.
4. Steam will verify the game's files - this process may take several minutes.
5. Once the process is completed, the Check Window will automatically exit.

I've got Steam but mostly buy retail and never had a problem with the small amount of games I have on Steam.

Maybe try posting on the Steam forums or contact codies customer support.

Restart your computer, it worked for me after i did that.

Hmm, I just noticed I had turned off my anti-virus and firewall to play the game.
