Many games are platform specific, so there is no such concern when buying, but right now I am looking at "Test Drive Unlimited 2" which will be released on 2/8/2011.
This game will be available on PC, PS3, and Xbox.
As I don't have an Xbox, I will be choosing between PC and PS3.
My question is, will there be any difference between these 2 versions?
My wheel and pedal setup (G25) works with both systems.
Both systems are output to the same TV via HDMI.
My PC is a decent gaming rig. It's not the top of the line, but it does exceed all the recommended requirements for this game.

I know one difference is that PC games can be modified, so there is the future possibility of mod community game changes and additions, as well as tweaking of the game through ini and other settings.

But as the base game itself, will there be any difference in the graphics/physics between the two platforms?

Depends entirely on your PC. If it exceeds the PS3 specs it will certainly look better. Physics will be lowest common denominator which means all systems will have Xbox level physics regardless of their CPU.

i have all 3 systems and i will get it for PC.

after a few months there will be mods out, and you will probably have a patch/mod in the physics at some point. That is at least why i get it on PC. Having a TDU with physics like GT ot GTR is 👍
Also i suspect you PC should display better graphics as the Ps3.

I know my PS3 is making my PC look guilty. It's barely HD compatible but a Celeron D can make frame rates look jerky on 720p. I'll change this soon!

With the first TDU there was a difference in that the PC supported a gate shifter. TDU2 supports both clutch and gate shifter across all platforms. The PC will give you higher resolution and faster framerate, but otherwise it`s the same. The PC will give you headaches with the online component though, all the anti-piracy crap you have to put up with. Also lots more people online with the console versions. I have TDU on PC and 360 and TDU2 on 360. There was more players online in the first one and way more AI traffic too.
