Stringing a bunch of consoles together to match a PC rig isn't what I had in mind :(

Yes, now i think about it i would buy a used ps3 or 3 if it meant having a next generation gaming experience for GT.

Peple buy Expensive HDTVs Wheels, Speakers, Considering PS3 at 300 bucks is damn cheap next to nice HD TV, so why not buy 2 or 3 to have even better GT experience?

👍, maybe we can cluster up to 8 PS3 and play 24hours of nurburgring with 220 oponents? But to PD do that, the game have be release next to.....2013, which means....a possible PS4 release date......

It is already possible to link 4 ps3's and play GT at 4x the resolution......

PD just need to leave it in :)

Then a track like Daytona and Indy should have 20+ cars. There really isn't a whole lot of scenery at these tracks either. Hopefully this means we get big Nascar fields.

I too expect nascar to be 20+ cars, i think the nascar's are quite simple they don't have headlights or taillights and the poly count can be quite low on these cars so they should have no problems getting more car's on track.

-> I won't rant anything about the number of cars in GT5 tracks until the game is officially out. :indiff:

~> All the panic in the world...

considering Toca on the PS1 had a full grid of 16 cars and pretty reasonable graphics for the time, I have always wondered how come the car count on PS2, PS3, Xbox and Xbox360 always remained at 6 or 8 cars for so long?

We have seen Tokyo, which is a city course and not a race track, Only race tracks consist of 16 car's and the race track's do not have any where near as much detail as city tracks.

Toca did it by a sort of cheating though. In Toca only you and the cars that are right by you make noise and are basically just blips on a radar that are barely there.

If only they made "slave" consoles, stripped of wifi hard disk cd drive and usb, sell that for like 150, make the game compatible and we can have 24+ cars.

sorry for my bad English. i am sure there will not be cuting, it will have 16 cars on the track in 1080p.. why? becouse they announced for a long time it will have it... and now they will cut!? no way... so i got few theories. first am sure you will be able to select number of cars in arcade mode.. and second i am sure it will hang with game hardness, the number of cars in gt5 demo in Tokyo maybe was conected with level of hardnes. for example .. medium you will have 12 cars on the track and on hard 16..

Even if they did cut 4-6 cars, I don't mind since I focus on my driving, not the AI.

This. I mean really how often do you actually see all other 15 cars in the race?
At most you'll probably see 10(unless you start last)and even at that if you are playing well(and don't crash)then you'll be in the lead so you'll see 2-3 tops.

The PS3 is already dated compared to today's gaming PC rigs. We could get a serious GT5 on a PC. It would be orgasmic. And imagine the mod community....oh snap. BRING IT. We could easily get 43 cars for the NASCAR circuits too.

Piracy.

GT5 on PC = People hacking it = PD + Sony losing millions.

GT5 on PS3 = Extremely slim chance of being hacked = PD + Sony making millions

PD has taken the step forward to be able to put 16 cars on the track, they aren't going to take it away. Of course every track isn't going to have 16 cars, but there are plenty that will.

Piracy is far from the problem. They would still make millions, maybe even more than they would with a PS3 exclusive. Don't believe me? PS2 was hacked practically day one. That never stopped GT3 and 4 to sell dozens of millions. Piracy can't be the reason.

I believe it's exclusive because it's one of the playstation's most successful franchises. It sells not only the game itself but the console too. That's probably the reason but I believe someone should ask Kaz.

10 cars is quite a bit for online. Most of the casual races I do in LFS have around 10 cars usually, and it's plenty

Having less than 16 cars is soooo last generation. I hope PD doesn't go that route.

:p

Compared to GTs main console competitors 16 is quite good. Forza only has 8 car races, how many do shift and grid have? I searched but could only find the max figures for the PC versions...

I know. ;) It's just that some people think Forza's 8 cars are a joke, though when people think that GT will have only 10 cars, they don't see it as a bad thing.
