Wow, it actually looks like PD really did modeled them. Just a few more touches and maybe PD could open it up for gamer use 👍

Sadly to say... I got on the 1st turn in a race and took pics but didnt put them on the xmb.... so i'll do those tonight. (chores and homework):yuck:

What's done? All I see is "Done" with an underline.

[I'm using the GTP App, Jordan may need to fix something]

Paste the link inside IMG codes.[IMG.....[

its in the OP.

When I saw it underlined, I thought at first it'll redirect to the image or similar when clicked

And Dave, I noticed that. That kind of texture seems like it was never used (possibly for weather-enabled tracks) from PD.

:idea:notice the rails are rusted?

Yep, Indeed I did. Another completely unique texture on GT5. Lemme speculate a bit more on the pics.

The cement on the Junior track seems quite detailed. If they model out the grass and trees near it and the rails, it maybe have public-use potential. And the exit onto the straight seems quite well blended to the GP track.

If you check the track more in detail just after the last corner at Monza (Parabolica), though, you can see that the detail on 3d model and textures for the old banked section is quite low. It's not intended to be drivable in its current game form (putting aside that it isn't in real life due to bad pavement conditions and other issues).

The banking isn't properly textured in game, so if you break out onto it the car floats over or through it. The grandstands are also stood on the banking so they would need to be removed for the banking to be used. Once your out of sight of the main track the banking disappears (as do all textures).

Nice inference & speculation 👍 So I guess PD didn't really considered to model out the Junior track for game use, but they did modeled it so it could add in to the atmosphere?

those are 2 of the many problems of it being added. but i did post that i went on it. (really i mean through it but you already know that.):)

Sorry about that one, i put the lighting on -1.0 on that one (it was the first picture i took for this and decided to take them at 0.0 after)

I'm not saying this basing on your pictures, but basing on what I've personally seen on my TV screen while looking around on that track.

Yes, that seems the most logical conclusion in my opinion. It's a bit of a shame, though. They could have at least modeled properly the missing 250-300 meters for the Junior track (again, if you go there in-game to check you can see that textures and road models are quite basic, low-res) which is currently used in real life for minor racing series.

i just thought about what you said.:) i own a Logitech DFGT, and if they made the underside of the oval solid and released the track as DLC (no chance at all really) then i wouldn't feel any bumps from the surface. (really bad road now...)
but for any reason, at least it would be a new track.

After an exhaustive search in youtube (45 seconds jajaja) I've found the proof than is not fully modeled

That's the race from which the used some footage for Grand Prix, is it not?

That clip is indeed taken from the film, as far as I can tell.

Yes, footage was collected over the 1966 Italian Grand Prix race weekend. You can tell which footage is "staged" and which footage is during "actual driving".
The same is true of the other events featured in the film, including Monaco.

You'd never see Bernie (or the GPDA, for that matter) allowing that sort of thing these days!

EDIT: You know, those pics are interesting. They're almost too detailed to be just scenery (look at the Coliseo at Rome) yet aren't properly modeled to be properly driven on (deliberate?). Remember how some of the slip roads and the like on the "exterior" of SSR7 were properly modeled, textured and were driveable to some extent? I wonder if they planned to add extra variants in time. Just speculating, but it makes sense given the geometry etc. is all streamed anyway.

Exactly! This Is why I'm astonished at the level of detail of the weathered concrete. Why go through all that effort for not? Shift 2's concrete doesn't look this nice. Shift 2 does have nice lighting with tree shadows stretching across the track.

Maybe if enough people let him know, he'll know we actually want it...

@Kaz_Yamauchi May I suggest adding the original oval track to #Monza in #GT5?
