I HATE the stupid multi angle camera pans at the beginning of EVERY race!. It's pointless, looks bad/is the same shot in most tracks and just generally annoys the daylights out of me. I just want to get to the race!!!

If you have to have it then JUST 1 SHOT! and cut the time to maybe 3 seconds then START!

[/rant]

Okay I am done.

:D

Never even noticed it.

Can't be any worse than Forza3 with the car driving up to the line, and brake squeal cut scene before every race.

I'm absolutely agree with this. THEY'RE TOO ANNOYING!!!

They're just a waste of time and ruin your racing mood, and when you are restarting a race/event the only thing they do is increase your frustration. Just begin with the camera in the selected angle, count 3, 2, 1, and Start. Keep the sequence for the replay.

When I click on "Race", I WANT TO RACE!!! Not watch a replay of my car. When I want a replay I...erm...watch a replay 💡.

It only happens on seasonal events hosted on the custom track generated event.
There is nothing to mount the camera point to on the other side there is only 1 wall that the Game engine fixes the cameras too it. The camera angles are generated by the map editor objects and there are none. Only the 1 solid wall along the track start and finish..

These Seasonal events are not races so can't have standing starts.
There challenges.
you are this far behind and have this many laps to get as high as possible.
Cars don't start lined up for Double file rolling start ether.

Because having the GT5 lap counter start at zero is normal and easy to do. its done counting up.
Were it should actually count down how many laps are left.

They are like madden challenges cowboys 0 - 27 Jags half time score. Now with only the second half left make the cowboys win. ( but don't if your a jags fan )

On Aspec there are plently of standing starts as an example Monza races.

Really, it's not a problem for me. It's like that since GT1, and it is ok. What I hate is that they are even bigger than in previous games.
And yeah, in Forza it's a waste of time.

I hadn't really noticed until some of the single file starts in the seasonals, they just go on and on and you can't even see another car or anything else on screen to help build that sense of excitement as intended.

I wish I could just start in view.

I the pre-race camera shots. I pretend it's from the perspective of an attractive woman who will later go on to have my babies when I emerge victorious and shrouded in glory.

This is my favorite part of the game. I would sell my copy of GT5 if they were removed.

iamjajo is my favorite part of gtplanet. I would delete my account if they were removed.

We don't want them wasting time that gave them the 6 years, do you want to make them feel like their time was not worth it?:)
If there is going to be bitching then bitch about not having stuff instead of

"Hey if your not busy take this away".

No. That's a classic signature element from the GT series, I not only don't mind them; I like them.

This the only panning around the car that we see when it is on a track since PD doesn't let us do that while racing I like to see the body lines of the car even if it is just for a few seconds.

Single file rolling starts completely and utterly suck, I was so happy when initially GT5 was mainly standing starts then utterly mortified when a subsequent patch brought the damn things back.

I know I have many issues with GT5 but bringing the single file rolling starts back when No-one was calling for it was mind boggling. The original standing start sequence to me is part of the GT series DNA and getting rid of it is wrong.

They could introduce a warm up lap (like in real racing) and then go to a standing grid start. Or they could have a pace car lead you round the track and then it peels into the pits to start the race.

I find it great, gives the feeling of the start of a race, when approaching the line and gives you a chance to 'prepare' for the start.

I'm clearly impatient! The opening sequence s in races, the lo...ong loading times (esp. GT Auto) & the time it takes to buy cars make me want to :banghead:

One Problem with that ,if you mess up your race and have to restart you will have to endure it all over again.

It's just fine for me, but it's annoying on those that took too long.

Just a 3-6 second cutscene will do.

Supercar Challenge Starts:
Vvvvvvvvvvvroooooommmmmm!!!!
VVVVVVVVVVVVVvrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrroooooooommmmmmmmmmm!!!!
VVVvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvzzzziiiinnnnnnn!
VVvvvvrrrroooooooooooooooommmmmmmmmmm!!!

And me already bored before the race has even started.
+1 For the warm up lap.
Btw, why the user has always to be starting last position? Not that I have trouble kicking the others ahead of me, but just for the shakes.

I had 'warm up parade' on in F1 '06. It was novel at first, but believe me, it soon becomes a pain in the ...

I like, it is classic, typical GT.

Mmm I thought you meant while the countdown, the three angles of the car... The longer ones are nice, the first or second time...

Some of the pre-race footage's are too long. Usually, the 'grinding' races have short ones though.
