PD should add gearbox preventation mechanism

After a very good New Tire Model, the next step is to prevent the rapid downshift.

To protect the gearbox and educate their players they should brake before downshift.

What say you

First they need to implement a proper damage system that include damage engine parts...
Then players learn by themselfs to prevent to early downshift because they would kill the engine all the time
But this will never happen in this game.

Downshift protection as aid(optional) also would even more dumb down the players, one thing more they dont have to care about. In case of realism, downshift protection should available in cars that have this in real life too.

I understand the point of downshift protection, but it was a major annoyance for me in Driveclub. Obviously, I should’ve been smarter when shifting, but there were times that I could’ve dropped a gear without damage but the game wouldnt let me. If PD introduced this in a future patch, then it needs to be an opt-in setting.
