People with wheels who end up just using the controller...?

So I spent a very frustrating hour and a half last night trying to use my wheel. This was probably going to be the only time this week (if not the entire month) I would be able to set up the wheel and play - so I was really looking forward to it.

First I tried Shift 2 on the Xbox, as I hadn't used a wheel in game yet...but patch 1.02 broke the FFB on the Fanatec, so that was a waste. I also hadn't used my Clubsports in Forza 3, so I tried that briefly before wanting to get back to Shift 2.

I put the PS3 version of Shift 2 in, and the FFB was much better after patch 1.02 but I simply was running out of time to actually drive and race, so I didn't fiddle with trying to dial it in perfect. Instead I put in GT5 - a guaranteed winner with FFB feel on the Fanatec, but by then the time I had was almost up and I felt rushed and couldn't focus.

I put away the wheel and simply used the controller to play some Shift 2 for the remaining few minutes I had, and had more fun than trying to fuss over the wheel and getting it set for each different game. I know it sounds crazy - but I'm just going back to the controller and not going to stress over having to mess with wheel settings for 10 minutes before every game. With kids and life to worry about, I have very limited time and would rather be racing.

I am already wanting to sell the Fanatec set-up for other reasons (posted in the for sale section), last night was just validation that I was going to miss it as much as I thought I would. I think it would be totally different if I was single and had a permanent set up, but that isn't my life right now. :indiff::sick::grumpy::guilty:
