My Red Bull has varied considerably in bhp since I have had it, at the top end after it was broken in I think it topped 1550bhp and at the other end after deliberately avoiding changing the oil and running thousands of miles in B-Spec endurance it dropped as low as 1319bhp.

The thing is the Performance Points have remained unaltered on 979 regardless of the oil induced BHP. So this got me thinking if this is common to all cars and is there really any need to change the oil?

Anyone found any similar experiences of this?

If the horsepower went up when you changed the oil, then yes changing the oil did something. Was it faster around a track with more power?

It seems like the question should be "Why didn't the PP change?", not "Should I change my oil"?
Or did I mis-read your post?

Well yes, the horse power can fluctuate by over 200 from minimum to maximum and I assumed that the PP would change in line with that - a 1550bhp X1 should be theoretically faster than a 1320bhp one.

But it doesn't, that's why I was asking if it actually makes a difference ultimately.

Im gonna go ahead and say that an X2010 with its oil black running less HP will have less PP due to this.

I played around with my X1 horsepower and it does change the PP, as long as the downforce is set to a lower setting. Alot of downforce will result in 999PP regardless of hp.

I'm not sure about that. I peaked my workhorse X2010 S.Vettel to 1557 HP, and the PP rating actually went down from 980 to 971. If anything, the spare X2010 S.Vettel that I have (0 miles, untouched stock HP), is still rated at 980.

What? :odd:

No if you havent realized the PP for every car has been changed. Go into tuning menu and back out and you will see. (My Speed 12 went from 765 to 667)
